sfcityduck
Congrats to whoever won the recent auction for this: It was described as a Dell counter-top display. I don't know if this was hand made by someone or this actually was a manufacturer produced counter-top display. If it was, it answers a question I've always wondered: Where did the Dell wooden signs with pink instead of yellow paint come from? I've seen multiple regular Dell wood racks where the owner, Robotman is one, affixed a pink lettered sign they'd got elsewhere to the kick plate on the bottom. This may well answer the question why there are pink lettered Dell signs floating around.
sfcityduck
And congrats to whoever got this one!: Billed as a countertop rack, it looks to me like it was actually intended to be used on a peg board and hung from a wall. telerites
@sfcityducknot GA but just curious if you tracked this one or may have bid on it? I was tempted especially with free shipping and have bought from the seller before but too rich for me. It would have been my first. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-COMICS-COMIC-BOOK-NEWSSTAND-RACK-1960S-SILVER-AGE-SPIDER-MAN-HULK/312578950324

I got busy at work and forgot about the auction. I was planning to go strong for this one. Oh well. The better deal was the day before, when this five sided Marvel-DC-Archie rack from the 1960s was auctioned with a $400 shipping cost but went for $227.50 ($627.50 with shipping). I gave it a pass because of the bad spray paint job that bled onto the sign, but it is very cool and someone should be really happy: That rack answered a question I had about a sign posted up thread that recently sold at Hake's for $562.86, just a little less than this rack. The sign was three sided with what was probably a clipped edge, I now know this sign was originally five sides not three: archiecomicscollector
Robot Man
Wow, very cool. Never seen that one. Kind of funny that it would be "cross branded" as it seems to be.

The only reason I saw it was because I follow that seller. I don't actively search for them but would still love to have one. The other was a good deal it seems. I would really a spinner. There are very nice reproduction spinners with "Hey Kids, Comics!" style graphics out now for under $400. It's a great option for the man cave. You can also find the Superman/Spiderman/Archie/Richie spinners for under $500.

sfcityduck
Kudos to whoever picked up this Silver/Bronze Gold Key rack for $129. I was the under bidder, only because it was so cheap, I wasn't willing to bid much because I have a very nice gold key wood rack and don't collect bagged comics. But, it is in great shape and was a steal at the price for the winner: Surprised there were only two bidders.
Popular Post mustang33guy
So I am up in New Hampshire visiting my in laws for the July 4th holiday and we stopped at an antique store on the way home from lunch. My mother in law said that they had comics and I should check it out. Unfortunately the comics were beat 70s and 80s issues, but behold the rack they were sitting on! Couldn’t pass up this unique opportunity to own such a cool piece. So I took it home with me! sfcityduck
I've already got an immaculate one of these racks, so I feel compelled to let you all know that on eBay there is a very rare and very cool comic rack up for sale for what I think is a reasonable price given its rarity and condition (which is average and cleaning would help with the wire body): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1950s-60s-Comic-Book-Spinner-Rack/254306709293?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D8984ecb4d555442fba055bee8f50edcf%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D254306709293%26itm%3D254306709293%26pg%3D2481888&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A4ebd6bb1-ada0-11e9-9617-74dbd180b9c7|parentrq%3A2121dfa516c0a99b0da5862fff9a487a|iid%3A1 Larryw7 and badback83

sfcityduck
Just noticed something important about the Dell wire racks! This Dell wire rack dates to 1948-1949 because Our Gang ended in 1949 and Herny started in 1948: My rack is a different version that must post-date 1949 because my version does not include the Our Gang and Bugs Bunny line, instead listing Andy Panda and Tom & Jerry on a line, and replacing Woody Woodpecker with Bugs Bunny on the bottom line: And now that I've started looking at these signs, I've found a third version on Hake's: Edited July 24, 2019 by sfcityduck ender
