Robot Man
Went to a very small local show today. Free admission and brought in a pretty good crowd. Tri-Color Brian, jimjum12 and manetteska
Robot Man
Some wall shots of what interested me. Very little GA or SA. What was there had “I don’t want to sell it” prices… jimjum12

Popular Post Robot Man
I had pretty much given up until the last wall. There I found “that guy”.There is always one of those guys at every show. You just have to get to him first. Very cool guy. He told me he got these VERY cheap and definitely sold them the same way. Not really the kind of books I look for but all were pretty high grade and he was obviously ready to dump them. Made my day as I only got a couple other marginal books today. Robot Man
A lot of grumbling dealers today. Lots of talk about the sliding prices of comics. There are usually lots of big SA and BA books here but not this time. Dealers are sitting on their big books until the market corrects. Definitely a good time to be a buyer with cash… goldust40, Azkaban and Darwination

Speaking from the collectibles side in general, The Creature (along with Godzilla) are the most popular with the many monster collectors out there. And there are a lot of them. Monster stuff as well as Disneyland stuff are instant sellers for me. This hit the racks in mid year. The car guys wanted it so bad they were instantly gone. Being a more opened minded “opportunist”, I grabbed the few I could find. They sell instantly to the monster folks. I see a real upside as these disappear from the racks to the monster crowd. adamstrange and Tri-Color Brian

Bob diid you say Skyline? Took this shot a few weeks ago at the Nissan showroom in Ginza Tokyo. They rotate vintage cars from their collection. I always stop by to see what's on display. I also have picked up some Godzilla goodies with the new movie out over here. Lots of fun stuff. jimjum12 and Robot Man

But I have grown to respect Japan muscle as well. The Nissan Skyline GT-R is a legendary car for its time. A 600 hp beast that rocked the industry in its day. So bad arse that it was nick named Godzilla. The HW version is a very accurate depiction of it. 50YrsCollctngCmcs

Popular Post 50YrsCollctngCmcs
Bob @Robot Man I was in Robot Man heaven yesterday when I stopped by Nakano Broadway a bit outside Shinjuku. I had taken my son to a Manga museum that is basically a small Apartment building which housed about six to eight manga artists in the 1950’s in small (5 tatami mat) rooms on the second floor. Shared kitchen and bathroom and no bathtub or shower! My son mentioned Akihabara but that’s way too touristy and overrun by maid cafes. Nakano Broadway on the other hand is a four story Warren of small junk shops! Robot Man Heaven! If you’ve ever heard of Mandarake this is where they got their start and they alone must have ten to twelve stores specializing in all facets of geekdom! I took some shots for you in a shop specializing in tintoys and such things. The entry had a very rare unopened Ultra Man model. Pricey!
