Time for another subset...

A recent purchase prompted me to dig out some more of these covers.

Any of you older folks might remember drive in movies with fondness.

My earliest recollection was my parents stuffing us in the back of the station wagon in our pj's. I can distinctly remember seeing Goldfinger over the car seat when I was supposed to be asleep. Later, in high school when the first one of my friends got his driver's license, we would pile as many of us as possible in the trunk to go see movies and run around the lot pranking our friends. It was, of course, a great place to take a date. Nice and private as you might know. My wife and I continued the tradition when our kids were little.

And the snack bar was the best place to "people watch". The young couples with smeared lipstick, the fat guy in the stained wife beater, kids in their feety pjs all coming in at intermission during a couple feature to grab some popcorn, raisonettes or a Coke.

Then poof! one day, they were all gone. Such a great part of Americana.

Last year, during covid, they made a bit of a return. I took my wife to one and secretly hoped to "get lucky" for old times sake. But she got old some where down the line and actually wanted to watch the movie...

The usual plea, post any you know of that I might have missed. I'm sure Archies, Teen-age books and Romance comics are loaded with them...
