First reholder submissions worries
0

8 posts in this topic

I just recently submitted a few ungraded books along with a already graded book the be reholdered in the same box.

However, I put the graded copy in a second box (one of those boxes perfectly made to hold CGC comics) and put the submission slip inside that secondary box.

Earlier this afternoon, I got the acknowledgement of my submission, but only for the ungraded books.

I'm worried that the secondary box was thrown out because it was for some reason mistaken as just packing material to hold down the ungraded books at the bottom of the box. That graded comic is worth more than all of those ungraded books put together about 8 times over, so that is why i'm so worried.

Do submission acknowledgements happen separately between the grading service vs reholder service?

I always thought that the receiving department marks the invoices as received. Since there is only one receiving department , I don't think there is any difference for grading vs reholder. I think you have a legitimate concern and should have called CGC immediately. However, I would think the receiving department would have opened up all packaging to make sure.

I didn't receive the acknowledgement email until about 15-30 minutes before closing and it was a Friday. I was about 15 minutes late and got no answer.

I just figured the box was such an obvious shape to be holding something in it that it wouldn't be questioned. It was a brown version of this:

I would bet everything is fine but I still think you should call on Monday. Good luck and let us know.

They're unable to find it, which means that i'm out $500. That sucks.

I just double checked the CGC shipping guidelines and it sounds like you did everything correctly, see #5.

https://www.cgccomics.com/services/shipping_your_books.asp

The exact layers of how I shipped was:

graded book and invoice inside secondary box

ungraded books invoice

ungraded books

There is nothing I can really do at this point. Losing the $500 was bad enough, but it's the type of signature series that it was that is the bummer here. It's not something that can be replicated.

Anyway, I appreciate your help.

In a situation like this is there any form of reimbursement for the book that was sent in, or is it just a total loss? Figure since it wasn't at your hand that the book was misplaced.

Either way it sucks. Sorry dude.
