It would also allow them to do the genre twisting that has lead to a lot of success lately.

Harley movie = dark comedy

Batgirl = coming of age

Black Canary = Assassin spy

Fantasy/Mythology/Paranormal/Horror focus: Sandman, Black Orchid, Justice League Dark, Swamp Thing, Constantine, House of Secrets, House of Mystery

War/Science Fiction: Sergeant Rock, The Haunted Tank (crosses over to paranormal), Creature Commandos (crosses over to paranormal), The Weird, Mystery In Space

Diversity-based stories: Atom ( Ryan Choi), Batwoman (Cassandra Cain), Black Lightning, Cyborg, John Stewart, Static, Vixen, Katana (recognize in advance no China), Doctor Fate (Inza Cramer).

Well, either way, it looks like the Snyderverse is going out with a bang. I’m hoping for a 4 hour documentary chronicling the event from the very first hashtag. Not because it’s Snyder or DC but because it’s a one of a kind cinematic event.

There's a book about the entire journey.

With Army of the Dead a big hit for Netflix, with his version of Justice League scoring critical thumbs-up and strong viewership for HBO Max, and with new leadership once again about to step into the picture, it’s time for WarnerMedia and Discovery to offer Zack Snyder a chance to complete his Justice League plan in an HBO Max exclusive.

There’s no point pretending there isn’t an audience for it or that it wouldn’t be a significant publicity coup for the studio, and no reason to let pointless resentments, internal feuds, or clickbait-hungry fansites serve as obstacles to the right business and artistic decision.

A Zack Snyder’s Justice League Part 2 could just for one example be made as a miniseries and divided into chapters just like Zack Snyder’s Justice League, so audiences can stream it all at once as an extra-long film, or in miniseries-like chapters akin to a comic series or graphic novel collection.

At $25 million per episode/chapter, it would have a bigger per-episode budget than the gloriously cinematic live-action Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian and on par with Marvel’s spending for their new streaming series like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. If it’s around four hours in total runtime, that’s perhaps five episodes with 48 minute runtimes, and would cost about $125 million.

That’s a very reasonable price for a high-quality big-brand IP series with an existing fanbase in the millions. If released in weekly chapters, it could attract more attention and weekly discussion; encourage longterm subscription by fans who might otherwise sign up for a few days and then cancel; demonstrate the idea of DC content’s ability to build separate divergent corners of its “multiverse” approach and continue making premium exclusive content that attracts both the built-in fanbase and new converts; and it opens the door to additional content within that corner of the DCEU, such as animated spinoffs and adaptations of things such as Ben Affleck’s Batman screenplay, which further expand the brand appeal and audience.

Please god yes, but not in the way that was described. I don't think that that budget would work for Snyder's vision. 2c

Time will tell what (if anything) comes from a year where Zack Snyder has productions that are noted as successful (one directly by the studio; the other through marketing pieces that slipped by).

It is funny, but the DCU could have basically ripped off the MCU Phase 1-3 play with mother boxes instead of infinity stones, and Darkseid instead of his rip-off by Stan Lee in Thanos. That would have required them to put a system in place similar to what Zaslav wants now with a creative overlord and having other directors follow a game plan that their own films had to fit in. I am curious to see how that would go over with creatives since WB is viewed as director/creator friendly.

They say it is creator-friendly. But then you had Toby Emmerich who made his mark with New Line by forcing creatives to operate on low-end budgets.

And with the DC live films, he had traditional studio heads overseeing any of their films which they were forced to use WB Studios facilities for 'economies of scale'. Which just meant traditional studio oversight. Which is why you had fools like Jon Peters attempting to tamper with Man of Steel. Iger at least recognized give the Marvel Studios people their own Profit & Loss accountability and dedicated resources.
