25 years ago the main question in my mind when it comes to superhero films was whether the Nicholson Joker made Batman a better film than Batman Returns with the Pfeiffer Catwoman.  hm

I absolutely, positively do not miss those days.

I guess it should be... But I avoided including the animated movies with live action, despite how good they might be. And I've always been a Supes fan. As a kid, I watched Superman & Superman II so many times I lost count. Still a great watch today. But not that Donner cut... ¬¬

I haven't seen it since it was in the theatre so I probably need to see it again.  I remember really enjoying it but not finding it as fun as the Civil War airport battle or as viscerally compelling as the idea of Iron Man fighting Winter Soldier for killing his father.  The whole political angle of Civil War is extremely thought-provoking, too.  I generally enjoyed Civil War in the comics, but I never understood the idea of publicly revealing every hero's secret identity.  Yes, I get the accountability they were going for, but they really need to put every friend and family member in mortal danger every moment of their lives?  Just acting like a police force that only deploys when ordered to seems enough, revealing your secret identity always seemed like a bad idea, so I was really glad when the film ditched that idea.

Captain America: Winter Soldier tops my list of movies ( although I have not made my list yet, I am waiting until I have seen Black Panther )

I am in complete agreement with Bosco. The entire story is very well written. The reveal of the Winter Soldier is the best I have ever seen in film. Arguably one of the best stories I have ever read in comics as well. It definitely is a serious movie over fun, but I think that is why I like it as much as I do.

19. Constantine

Have to agree, this one is fun as well.

Sure, he doesn't match the backstory and look of the comic book Constantine. But the mission and villains are all there. Including the biggest of the Big Bads!

Extending that further, Paul Verhoeven's Robocop could be included, as he's basically a cyborg version of Judge Dredd. Great film, as well.

Now Dredd vs Robocop would be a cinematic masterpiece...
