Buzzetta
I believe that the reprints are excellent signing opportunities. I picked up a True Believers AF15 signed by Stan. To me that was beyond worth it as I would never get my original copies signed. Especially with what is going on, I do not believe that anyone in their right mind should be sticking genuine AF15's in front of him. nepatkm, Larryw7 and MGsimba77

FineCollector
I grew up in the 90's where owning 2nd prints of something meant you sucked for not being able to find or afford a 1st print. I was so reprint-averse, I swore off X-Men 67-93. Nowadays, I'll buy reprints or later prints in addition to the original, not in place of it. MGsimba77
I recently found these 3. I'll be sending #44 & 53 out for grading. I also have an ASM 1 GRR 9.8 W which I'm debating whether to have reholhered since it has one of those old crappy labels. nepatkm, Jimbo749 and Larryw7
Popular Post Larryw7
I loved X-Men 67-93 because as a kid I enjoyed older stories more than the new stuff. I used to love Marvel Tales, Marvel's Greatest Comics and Marvel Triple Action, along with the great GA reprints DC was publishing in their 25¢ and 100 Page books. I wasn't a happy camper when both publishers largely abandoned reprints in the late seventies. Luckily a Comic Book store opened not far from me around this time, and I was able to buy the real deal(low grade and cheap) and not have to rely on reprints anymore. Popular Post Larryw7
It was great when Marvel reprinted classic stories with new picture frame covers. They really bring back memories. I was given a Fantastic Four omnibus and really disliked the way they reworked the art, and the nicer quality paper was actually a negative for me. I think that paper smell/feel is the only thing missing from the True Believers books. Even though the art is the same, it feels much different on modern glossy paper. I'm pretty sure at some point unsigned AF15s will be more rare than signed versions. It's not like Stan's sig is uncommon. Maybe for a coverless or otherwise trashed copy. Jimbo749
Picked up a Predator Jungle Tales book this weekend, thought it was a one-shot story but it actually reprints stories from the Dark Horse comic series. So would it not be a reprint and be more like a compilation then? BTW, thanks for posting all the cool books everybody, this place isn't dead. nepatkm

Popular Post 01TheDude
still mad at myself for selling off (very cheaply no less) all my Marvel Tales and Marvels Greatest Comics when I came back to the hobby and started selling off some old books. Still had that prejudice against reprints from my earlier days. Not long after that, I realized I had sold off some really awesome stories and books with new cover art. though on the bright side-- I have followed through on buying many of the original books to replace them. Just wish I had held on to the MGCs as I work on my FF collection and see many of the books I am hunting for were already in my collection as reprints. Do it soon tho, cause the issue that reprints FF 48 is breaking away from the pack. nepatkm and 1950's war comics

valiantman
I spent hundreds of dollars on a restored single page from a reprint. That's as crazy as it gets. :D It's just Superman killing a guy. Jimbo749
Another True Believers #1 for the collection (reprints X-MEN #25). Speaking of True Believers, I did see a set of Spider-Man vs Venom (ASM 300) first and second print set on a dealer's wall priced at $10, at a show over the weekend. I might have actually forked over the $10 if I didn't already have the second print.
