From a good actor to a bad one.

Has your theory anything to do with the missing numbers?

Evening all :)

It's that cretin again (thanks Bird).

We're up to 203 confirmed pence Dells now, not that anyone gives a monkeys. If a pence copy exists for each of the cents copies in the projected date range there should be 424 books out there. So we're creeping up to the half way point.

Or are we?

When you look at the capture sheet, the old 'patterns' begin to pop out as I've said various times across my pence threads. Here's an example of one such pattern:

1994965442_203dells.thumb.PNG.07156e27b91552666d299f3dc57b8a03.PNG

It tells a bit of a story doesn't it, but we'll see. Time will tell, as the old boy said before degenerating into a babbling, seemingly unconnected irritant.

Anyway, here are six new low grade 9d arrivals, just to prove I'm not making it all up, and all manually resized due to the boards annoying inability to post multiple same size pictures in the same size. If you're a 'high grade only' type of person, look away now, but you'll miss out on some fun covers if you do.

Be seeing you Patrick...

Nice use of the horn there.

I picked up my first graded Dell today, from a discerning friend in the US of A. It's the first known Four Colour 'U.K. Edition' 9d copy - Peter Gunn #1087 (April-June 1960):

Looking at the census, I see CGC have graded three types of this book as follows:

The US copies:

1749668444_1087us.thumb.PNG.f609d5566afda8bcca4046218051536e.PNG

The UK copies, of which mine is one:

And 'Australian' copies:

I didn't know there were Australian copies? Is this a mistake? Paging the King of Australia @AJD koa.thumb.JPG.1ecb6c0370bac3ab11afdab6d161893e.JPG

You rang?

Pretty sure the CGC listing is an error. A few Four Color series books got an Australian printing, but mostly the movie adaptations. Westerns were popular here, but I've never seen a Peter Gunn issue, and AusReprints comes up blank as well. If I had to bet, I'd say it's like the Donald Duck I posted here earlier - a UK issue incorrectly identified by CGC as Australian.

Now, if you'll excuse me, as king of this ridiculously hot country, I have to go order the execution of the entire Australian cricket team. :tonofbricks:

Cheers Andy - that's what I was thinking. They'll get it right one day hopefully...

Morning :)

I picked up a copy of Dell Giant #43, to add to the collection of Giant Pence Ones. When you consider the title, the bottom left corner is quite an appropriate defect isn't it hm

It must have been quite a big mouse too, when you consider how thick the book is...

Cheers Bob!

Here's three more - not new finds, but new to the growing Dell Pence Evidence Box of Doom :)
