Amazing Spider-Man Vol. 4 #23 (J. Scott Campbell Color Variant) – NM – $15

After HeyJarvis posted the  indicating his intentions to buy it, the "RECAP" posts on the first and last page were updated to indicate that the book was already taken.

Upon closing the thread, it was discovered that HeyJarvis edited his post on 10/4 backing out of purchasing the book and replied with the following per Page 2 on my thread:

"Edit was able to pick up at NYCC"

 

I was never notified nor PM'd by HeyJarvis about him editing his post or any polite request to respectfully back out. I PM'd HeyJarvis about this issue when the thread closed and discovered his actions on 10/8 with the following:

HeyJarvis,

Per my Gwen Stacy thread, the subject comic book was claimed by you and are therefore obligated to be purchased by you. I see that you are a new member, but I believe this is against the marketplace rules, editing your post and backing out of you purchasing a book. You claiming the book held it from anyone purchasing it for 4 days and is unacceptable behavior in any of my threads as this prevents any serious buyers from purchasing it. Please reply back to this message ASAP with your intentions as to whether or not you will complete this sale per the board's marketplace guidelines. If not, or I do not hear back in 4 days, I will be forced to nominate you to be placed on probation by the mods for breaking marketplace rules.

Apologies, go ahead and nominate me. I am new if that’s a rule then I overlooked it and that’s on me but I am also used to getting some aftermation or acknowledgement of offers in all of my other dealings in the groups I frequent so when not seeing any or hearing any feedback on my post I did indeed buy a copy right in front of me and withdrew my offer with a few days left to go in your sale for anyone interested in buying it as you did not acknowledge I had claimed it. Regardless do what you feel is right.

HeyJarvis has indicated that he has no intention nor plan to complete the transaction after he edited his post and backed out of the purchase. I would like to nominate HeyJarvis for the probation list for not adhering to marketplace rules and guidelines and not completing the transaction.

This is not Facebook or instagram. We have rules here and expect people to follow them. As far as I’m concerned his stated intention to not complete the transaction waives the thirty day waiting period for probation nomination. You should PM him a link to this thread. Unless he follows through on his obligation I am in favor of placing him on the probation list.

I would like to update this thread with this last message sent by me through PM on 10/9. Other than a different PM notifying him of his nomination for inclusion in the Probation List, this is where our communication has ended. I have not received any response from HeyJarvis regarding this issue since his only message in the first post of this thread.

Your post was acknowledged as seen in both "RECAP" posts of available books on the first and last page of the thread. The book you took was taken out of both "RECAP" posts indicating that it was already taken. In addition, when you post , it is not an "offer" from you, but an intent to purchase the book and should not be withdrawn. Regardless, whether this was done with a few days left or not, you posted the  and therefore obligated to purchase the book. Also, there was no notification from you to me personally on the actions you took. With this volume of books, I do not have the time to go through every post to see if someone changed their mind considering that it shouldn't be happening in the first place.

@HeyJarvis Not worth ruining your reputation here for such an amount.  If it were me, I would send Lucid the $15 and ask him to keep or donate the book. At least that way you’re not out shipping cost.

Due to his stated intention to not pay, I believe the 30 day rule is waived. Additionally, HeyJarvis has not responded in over 72 hours. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this allows him to be officially put on the Probation List

I'm also in favor of including him on the Probation List. Sellers here have given me a lot of time to get funds together for purchases. If we (buyers) don't honor the  tickets, then I think sellers will hesitate to hold books for (arbitrary time length) a week+.
