If they do not they will return it still intact. Either way that is a beautiful copy and congratulations! Yes, this exactly. With old slabs, there are two concurrent and sometimes contradictory schools of thought: 1. Grading was tighter then, so the book is likely not overgraded. (Though anecdotally I am to understand that grading is tighter now than ever before, so maybe that's not the case anymore?) 2. Books in OG slabs were submitted before pressing became the norm, therefore the book may be "upgradable", whereas everyone assumes that every book slabbed in, oh, the last 10-15 years or so, has been pressed within an inch of its life. So...I realize now that none of this is actually helpful, so yeah, just do what @onlyweaknesskryptonite said and have a pro give it the once over. Personally, I'd just leave it in the slab as is. Beautiful book and I dig the older labels, not worth the risk of a downgrade for me. You may gamble and win, though! Popular Post comicartfan
I had an 8.0 copy and I have always wanted to upgrade. I missed out on a couple of other copies that Greg Reece had, but got lucky I saw this one on Bob Storms's website. Popular Post Phicks
Picked up Hulk 152 and Daredevil 106 right here on the boards from our very own Dr. Banner. I have now completed a streak of Hulk 102-176 in 8.0-9.0, and Hulk 152 was the elusive last book I needed. I already had a Daredevil 106, but it was only a VG copy which looked rather out of place with my usual 8.0-9.0 collection. Dr. Banner was also selling a hi grade copy, so with Spider-Man 83 already paying the shipping, I added Daredevil to my order. As I was entering my comic collection into an Excel database for the first time earlier this year, I was stunned to see I was missing Spider-Man 83. An acquisition from eBay addressed this hole, and I now have an exact 100 issue streak from 42-141. And an all new (to me) story to read from Stan the Man and Jazzy John! Popular Post comicginger1789
So a couple books I had sitting stateside finally got to me. These were purchased back in March and I kinda just waited thinking I would go get them when things got better but here we are. So I just had them sent to me... First, some Golden Age goodness. Bought these because the price seemed right and I was in a GA mood at the time. The date stamp and date on the Jumbo had me wanting it more than a normal copy. And this....with a pleasant surprise inside!!! And round it out with some ho gym ASM as an upgrade on my current copy ChrispyC66, ADAMANTIUM, batmiesta and 8 others

Doesn't have the glasses although I have a pair from another 3-D comic from that time...plus I'll take the extra cover! It was funny the seller did not notice because he did list saying the glasses were missing which means the book was opened F For Fake
Popular Post F For Fake
My morning yard sale experience put me in a comic buyin' mood, so I dropped by the lcs this afternoon and picked up a truly random assortment of stuff. First up, this set of Resident Evil comics. I didn't really know anything about them, but experience tells me that at the right price, horror movie/game tie-ins from this era are a pretty safe bet. At around a buck a book, I took a chance. Looking at eBay now, it seems like I did well on the gamble. Next, a couple of first appearance beaters. Not in great shape, but for under $10, again, I'm not going to pass 'em up. Last up are two random GA books! The shop doesn't get a ton of Golden Age material, so I'm always interested when they do, as they are pretty fair in pricing. Had to bring these home with me. And now...I'm broke!
