A local guy has been slowly selling off his collection to me over the past few years. We agree on pricing pretty easily which makes things work for both of us. I knew he had these early ASMs a couple of years back but he wasn't ready to sell yet, and he let me know a couple of couple of days ago that he was moving on from them. As always it was a pretty easy deal to make. I actually put a higher value point on the ASM 5 than he did so he actually negotiated down from the price I offered him, which is not something you see every day.

I did make a video of it that is going live tomorrow but that is pretty much the story.

Congrats! Friends or being friendly for the win! Or as some call it blessed to be a blessing. I've curated the best I can, but it's a nice deviation from what sometimes feels cutthroat, like any hobby turned business 😂

I'm loving the Darkwing Duck, 1st in the run :) I've seen Dell Otto sketches that are nice, glad they're using the character! Been a long row to hoe. I'm glad that the others were attractive too, "no one?/Batman?" Sweet! I'm all for the getting into some detective stuff if it floats your boat too, but I'm not sure where those books are lol Darkwing Duck at least had a cool theme song.

lol yeah Darkwing ducks theme song was dope! yeah no one/batman :-(

Picked up some low grade ASMs. The first issue is a Golden Record Reprint.

Does the Spidey #26 have a miscut cover, or have the insides slid up?

I see a lot of additional top edge, which is always welcome if it's production related :)

Why does the CGC case have so much space on each side? Is the comic smaller than normal or did they slab it in a magazine-sized holder? (shrug)

Not that it matters, as Lippy The @lizards2 always busts them out anyway :)

Yeah - I kind of looked at all that, as the CGC label looked weird - I don't recall that font being used for the verification numbers before. But it does check out through the verification process. And the grader's notes match the book.

Maybe that case weirdness (and the fact that it was in Canada) had an impact on auction results. I got a bargain on it - about $200 under last GPA. But then maybe the price is soft due to the overall softening of the market. But the last GPA before that was set in Feb 2023. Go figure - sometime I luck out at auction, when people forget or don't come out to play.

I'm getting old enough now, so that isn't always necessarily true. However, the magazine size encasement may insure that I do crack this one out. Who wants to store and odd-sized slab? Not me.

I am listing it as a trim since I can't tell if it is manufacturing. The bottom lines up so the top part is just absent, although if it was cut it must have been long ago since the edge is right for the age.
