3.2X production budget exceeds MCU films such as Iron Man 2 (3.1X), Thor (3.0X), Captain America: The First Avenger (2.6X) and The Incredible Hulk (1.8X). Even with Shang-Chi it sits at 2.8X. Black Widow, to be fair, had the Disney+ premiere access release so its 1.9X is not a complete balance sheet total.

So yes, Venom 2 turned out to be a surprise hit.

2c will get to $450MM WW (w/o China), >S-C

Considering the full quote from Luiz Fernando, he is estimating between $430M-$600M depending on the remaining 6 markets (including China if it lands a release date).

He thinks China has a strong chance of happening.

Dwayne Johnson is a huge star in China and has excelled there in the past, although Jungle Cruise’s release date comes about three and a half months after its initial global rollout — and it’s been on Disney Plus Premium for much of that time. Still, that Disney was given two weeks notice ahead of the date is better advance than its other pandemic-era releases. The current global box office is $214M global.

Further Disney titles are still waiting for a green light from the Chinese authorities, but it’s highly unlikely Black Widow or Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings ever get a date. As for The Eternals, we hear there is still no word.

Another title that’s still waiting for news is Sony’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

2cis there still a chance? maybe

Since some like to measure box office success by just the domestic market...

Quote

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has become the second-biggest movie of 2021. A new report from Exhibitor Relations lays out how the Marvel sequel continues to climb this weekend. Buy earning another $5 million, that was enough to leapfrog Black Widow and F9, which sit at $183 million and $173 million respectively. This shouldn't come as a complete shock. Venom's first outing raked in a billion dollars at the box office. There was a clear demand for another movie and the filmmakers delivered more carnage. Tom Hardy and Andy Serkis have been emboldened by Sony's clear desire to bring Spider-Man into contact with the symbiote at some point in the future. (Fans are also reading the tea leaves after everything that has occurred in the marketing for Spider-Man: No Way Home.) It's a new day for the little spinoff that could. No one is thinking that Venom was a one-time fluke now. Sony has built a force to be reckoned with as the series moves forward. Just to put this in perspective, Let There Be Carnage did this without Tom Holland's hero throwing punches. Imagine what the next one will be like.

Second biggest movie (so far) in 2021

Which included which movies?

Not a worry.

What you will see many reporting sites (and some forumites) record is the Domestic Box Office results because they come in much quicker. So if you look at the chart I included, that shows the Top 8 2021 domestic results to date.
