Not that it matters since I love seeing all the comic covers.... :cloud9:

:preach:  Technically that would be October 1956 with the release of Showcase #4 and the introduction of the New Flash.

When it ends is anybodies guess...

1)1968 with what were supporting characters (Compared to flagship titles of ASM and F.F.) getting their own titles, Hulk, Iron Man, Capt. America, Sub-Mariner, Silver Surfer, Capt Marvel.

2)Cover price rising from 12 cents to 15 cents in late 1969

3)End of the decade

or a combination of all of the above???

Sorry for the rant, seems I just like to hear myself talk...:blahblah:

It really isn't a neatly defined time. I personally am very interested in the Atlas implosion era, when it was down to just Stan by himself. Shackled with an 8 issue a month restriction, it's amazing to me that our beloved line survived, let alone thrived to become the powerhouse that redefined how a comic story was told. Interesting time indeed and issues from that period are VERY difficult to find in grade.

A book that I've always loved! Everything from the Subby/Torch reprint, to the DD reprint, to the deep brown cover colors.

This pic reminds me of my SA collecting years.

I used to own highest graded copies (9.8 for the most part) of almost every book in your photo that was published 1965-1969 :x

Where does one go to find Nicolas Cage books??

Maybe try sneaking into his house when he is away? :baiting:

A large part of his collection (or maybe all of it?) was auctioned sometimes in 2001 I think through Heritage. Since then they are out there and come up in various auctions from time to time.

My copies are most definitely NOT the highest graded :nyah:

But I dig 'em anyway!
