wrightson signature cgc?

After doing some reading I believe that a CGC Signature grade is given if the artist signs the comic in front of a CGC representative? Next, is this usually a scheduled type thing at a convention or can it be a "hey can you come here a second" type of process? I know Bernie is doing San Diego and I can't make it this year. I'd like to get a CGC signature of any one of his comics just to have for my collection. If any one wants to ad it as a side quest let me know. I read the boards here pretty regular and gather some great info from you guys!

Thanks,

Hi,

Signature Series books are done in front of a CGC representative only.

Usually, I have a representative at the show (Peter from Paradise_Comics). If you can find him or any of the CGC reps, they can usually just go with you to get it done. However, this is San Diego, and this show is way more trickey to get stuff done.

If you know someone who is going to SD, you might have a shot. Otherwise, you might want to wait for a smaller show to get this done at.

Or, I could sell you the Swamp Thing #8 (CGC 9.2) that Berni signed for me. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Hope that helps,

Nice web page. I love my ST 1-10 signed by Bernie. He's one hell of an artist and a nice guy on top of that. Good luck getting your Sig Series book.

I heard that he is going to be doing a show here in dallas.. he is a real nice guy and will sign what ever you want he is also gentle with the books so they usually don't get damaged. I can witness him signing for signature series for you if you miss him at san deigo, just send me a PM. I sent my wrightson books with peter to take to san deigo and get signature series'd for me. But it is short notice to get books to him for the show.

I haven't heard of him coming back to Dallas. Since I live in Frisco that would be great! I'll shoot him an e-mail and see if there is any truth to that rumor. I know he really loved the last convention here. If anyone does get a CGC Signature at S.D. and wishes to sell it let me know. I'm not talking S.T. or H.O.S. 92, a recent Toe Tags would be fine!

That really is a cool site. thumbsup2.gif

BTW...I've always seen the M.C. Escher swipe on the House of Secrets #99 cover attributed to Kaluta. Did Wrightson tell you otherwise? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

H.O.S. #99, slipped by me. Thanks! I checked it and it is a Kaluta. I've had to go by word of mouth and various checklists for most of my stuff. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Bernie has done so much I usually don't ask if he remembers.

He just got back to me on Dallas though. No plans for Dallas, but I think if he's asked to come back here he would if it fit his schedule. He and his wife really had a good time with the fans at the last con.

Hey wrightsoncollect when I was talking to jaime mendoza at the last the last dallas show in may when he did a signature series event at my booth which was also a CGC submission center. He said that mr wrightson was thinking about coming to the october Dallascomiccon but hadn't confermed yet. Since you live in Frisco you should come to the dallas comic-con I'll have a CGC submission booth there you can stop by and we'll talk

I plan on being at both the Dallas Comic Con and Wizard this year. The response I got from Bernie was that he'd come back to Dallas "as soon as he was invited again". I've contacted Mark and I'll e-mail Ben to see if they plan on inviting him to the Dallas Con. But from the reply I got earlier today he hasn't been invited to either show yet.

I talked to mark at the bruce campbell signing the other day he said they were going to start working on the con after san deigo so we should know in a couple of weeks. I'll talk to mark about it and see if he'll invite him. I hope the show has as good of a line up this time as it did in febuary if not better. at either rate stop by the booth and we'll talk I should be located right by the artist which will help with signature series.
