The writer of this Matrix movie and myself have something in common.

Now, that's a review you'd be qualified to give:  "I watched 5 minutes of this movie and since I know I'm 100% poop, I can certainly recognize it in others.  0/5 stars for me, 0/5 stars for this movie."

No, the review would be: "The writer and I both suck at writing. This movie sucks. As someone who isn't a professional writer, I can observe the signs of another person's inability to write coherently. As such, I can confirm that this is a 0/5"

Unfortunately, I don't think the Matrix world was really designed well for more than one movie.  It's been a pretty tough downhill slide since that first film.  2c

Agree.  The first one was so mind-blowing visually and in concept.  It was so successful and the characters so cool they had make some more (money).   Even if they were really just F/X porn.

After watching it twice, I found the film to be rather anemic.  Just not any real moments for you to connect with characters and without that, tough to care what happens to them.

Yeah, agree with most of this critique. The F/X was solid. The story and concept were also on par with the others. Unfortunately, I don't know how they could have executed the plot any better. I'm not saying that it was great, but I liked the movie (aside from its constraints). With the portion of the story they were telling, it didn't leave a lot of room for emotional connection. The new characters were essentially fanboys and girls.

Instead of rehashing over and over what they could have done was show how the machine world-was another matrix-and introduce the REAL matrix creators-and create an entire new reason for the matrix's existence.  Hollywood never called me or I could have helped em and made new matrix popularity climb a bit.

So, the Time Keepers were just machines, and the real villain was Kang? hm

The 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies are really best suited for watching the highlight scenes on YouTube.

It's funny how the first movie is so amazing and groundbreaking, while the rest are just kind of blah.

I think it shares something in common with the Terminator movies.  The first movie was very original, and T2 was one of the best SciFi/action movies ever made, but after that the premise just can't hold anything up.  It gets too convoluted and the suspension of disbelief breaks down.

These kind of movies need to keep things moving fast enough so that the plot holes and silly SciFi stuff can't be analyzed while you are watching it.

Big fan of terminaor-read everything I could get my hands on.  T2 my favorite movie of all time.  T3 wasnt awful but after that they kept jumping the shark.  John connor becomes the bad guy, terminator sells drapes-john connor not leader anymore now its a woman and woman protector-WTF?????????
