I was high bidder going into the auction. I guess I had high hopes no one knew about the auction as it wasn’t advertised well whatsoever. I was wrong!

I was watching thinking the same thing but boy did I get a heavy dose of reality.

There don't seem to be any arbitrage opportunities anywhere anymore.

Good to see that Heritage removed this fake Peanuts strip from the January sale:image.thumb.png.b5984552052b03fb248a8a309a05a6e6.png

It was listed as 3-22-1956, but, the style is all wrong for that period. Not to mention the line is too thin and scribbly. The forger nailed the overall look of the strip, but, it doesn't hold up to close scrutiny.

Sweet Krispy Kreme donuts! It made it so far..... luckily not into the hands of a trusting auction winner. Makes you think. I would hope the consignor can help shed light on provenance step retracing. This can't be the only one the counterfeiter made. Hopefully it's the only one that's come to market.

No one on the Boards called it out either.

Nobody seems to look closely at lots until a week before the live auction date. Or maybe that's lazy me.
I do an initial run through and watch my 100+ items and then I forget all about them until about 2-5 days before the live bidding.

The bigger the money, the more the temptation. This is why I'm not touching separated pages with a ten foot pole... too easy to forge.
