While this is probably best viewed on the big screen, I will probably wait for it to come out for free on streaming in  months in 3 months or less instead. Menacing dinos are as overdone as raiding Vikings these days.......

Saturday:  8 RT reviews

This morning:  8 RT reviews

Never seen this before.  Why would so few reviews make it up?  Was there a small handful of screenings and those 8 reviewers are the only ones RT uses who saw them?

Up to 11 reviews.  Still not sure why they're coming in so slowly.

Saw it yesterday and it sucked. Big and dumb with uneven cgi. Sometimes the dinosaurs looked flawless and other times they were clearly rushed. I’m talking about how smooth the movements appear. The AppleTV Prehistoric Planet doc actually  looked better. The story was as ridiculous as many of the action scenes. They tried to play this out like a Bond or MI movie at times. Was nice to see the original cast but they couldn’t save this. What a waste of film and talent. As much as I hate reboots/remakes they just need to go back to the source material and give us a proper adaptation of Jurassic Park and The Lost World. Add Crichton’s name to the title as well.

The Rotten Tomatoes consensus line is weird:

Quote

Jurassic World Dominion might be a bit of an improvement over its immediate predecessors, but this franchise has lumbered a long way down from its classic start.

It's at 40% right now, yet Fallen Kingdom got 47% and Jurassic World got 71%.  So is Dominion an improvement or not?  The reviews so far suggest the opposite and that it's worse.  ???

Analysts are estimating this will surpass estimates.

Quote

Jurassic World Dominion devoured $59.6 million at the Friday box office for a projected domestic debut of $142 million. At this pace, the third an installment in the Jurassic World trilogy will finish Sunday with a global total of $386 million.

The Universal and Amblin movie will easily win the box office race as audience sensation Top Gun: Maverick falls to No. 2 in its third weekend. Top Gun 2 continues to overperform and should earn a rousing $50 million this session as it approaches the $400 million mark domestically.

Jurassic World Dominion is coming in behind 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($148 million) and 2015’s Jurassic World ($208.8 million), but it is still one of the biggest openings of the pandemic era.
