Can't leave the Silver Age out of this thread. Here's one that's so bad, it's almost "good":

Terrible artwork. Robin is only at about 40% "shock pose".

Here's my candidate for worst cover of all time. My arguments:

 

1) "Pajama boy"

2) Purple with Flippers

3) the guy does not have time to get out of the way of the knife, but apparently has time to say "NO! He's deflected it -- right back at me!" (maybe he lacks mobility with his flippers)

4) when he says "me", does he think he threw it? It looks like his buddy did!?

 

Anyway, I would love to see covers that are "better" than this one...

any World's Finest from 1958 until oh, around 1965 or so totally trumps that book. Sherlock Holmes himself couldn't find a DC book from that time period with Superman on the cover where someone isn't explaining what the picture is showing
