Ashcan and NYCC variants are the only ones worth getting.  They came out before issue #1

The ashcan preceded NYCC by three months, so perhaps it will be considered the true gem of them all.  I think all are worth getting since the print runs are tiny for each.  Completing a master set of all of them will be super tough as they sell out and find homes in collections.

Great list and there are a number I would like, but I'm not going to touch any.

Also, I don't mean to derail yet another thread, but simply state some information for some that may be unaware. The numbers listed are how many they are supposed to be selling. They print more than that.

Print runs are not much higher than the number to be sold, but I have heard they go over by a small margin. It allows them to pull defective books and still have the stated “print run” available to sell. Honest shops will rip the cover off and make extras available as reader copies.

Yup, I had one of those situations myself with a damaged copy. But you know this and are stating "print run"? Also, yes, honest shops, I see at least one on there that has gone against what they have said they were offering before.

It was not my intention to deceive.  I see what you meant when mentioning derailing the topic earlier.  How about this before it gets too far off the rails?  I will modify the original post to satisfy this possible discrepancy in numbers and we can focus on the books instead of minutiae.

I will update my post with this info.  The only thing that is inaccurate is the Color splash variant attributed to Unknown Comics.  I contacted them and they said there are only two variants for their shop.  Perhaps Image listed the wrong retailer for that book.

May I ask where they posted the list?

I am subscribed to Image News Letter, that sends out a list of new comics weekly, 

after copying the list I deleted the E-mail, and have spent the last hour looking for 

it online, with NO luck, sorry. Perhaps others are subscribed as well and still have 

access to the news letter.

As all of the variants are arriving at my house, I must give the various shops credit for sending high quality books and using great packing.  The only exception would be Jetpack Comics, who sent out copies that had creases on the covers and spine ticks.  Overall, Image has partnered with some quality shops here.

If 4th World is the one on Long Island, I have to say that when I lived out there and started collecting in the '80s, it was one of my regulars, and is a great store.

I picked up the An0maly variant, I love the cover and really enjoyed issue 1.  If it arrives in great shape I may slab it.

I nabbed the An0maly variant as well. I thought it was the best of some excellent options.

Uncle Sam is the only thing that somewhat turned me off. 

Otherwise, it was pretty solid.  Very curious to hear the whys.
