I picked up this Sanjulian cover 5-6 years ago from the Dark Horse revival of Creepy.  A clear tribute to the EC story “Foul Play”.

I feel that I need to even out the artist ratio, as it’s been all Enric and Sanjulian from me lately. Here is one of my favorite large-scale Jose Gonzalez pieces.

At one point, I had two versions of the zombie graveyard scene, and remembered that a had a shot of the two of them together. I traded the other one away. Also came across a picture I had taken of two of the others in the thread together before they were framed as size reference.  I thought I may as well share these. 

The smaller canvas in the first picture is 24” x 30”.

“The Return” on the right is 20” x 30”.

It’s been quiet on the boards, so I’m going to continue to roll out more of my Spanish artist pieces in this thread.   This Golem and Faerie painting is a gem and was used as the cover to one of Sanjulian’s art pamphlets. Often finds it’s way on my wall.

Here is my Enric tribute to Frank Frazetta. After Frank passed, he did this recreation in grey tone. He normally wouldn’t do a recreation of another artist’s work, and I normally wouldn’t want it either, but this was the exception to the rule.

While quite reminiscent of Enric’s cover to Vampirella 89, Jose Gonzalez  took it a very different direction with the color palette and expression. It’s one of my most cherished pieces.

In the “you can’t always get what you want” department, here is another Enric I commissioned. I had requested a Vampirella on the Empire State building ala Eerie 81. He didn’t want to step on the Frazetta original. I then suggested giant Vampirella in something like the “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” poster. No dice, refused again. In the end, this was my giant Vampi piece done in pencil, 19.5” x 29.5”.

Awesome stuff! This one here, other than a stunningly beautiful depiction of Vampirella, is the great detail in the hand gestures that capture my eye. The fingers are so delicately placed. That, along with the complimentary colors makes this a stunner, congrats! Watercolor or colored pencil?

Good eye!  It is in fact a combination of colored pencils and watercolor.

The cover is uncredited, but @Stevemmg identified it as by Enric, and who am I to disagree?
