The DC Skybox did DC Villains Dark Judgment which also included Doomsday cards and Inserts. The set like DC Master Series had a Redemption Card to mail away for the Skymotion Card( the also had one that was a Promo which could be seen when you tilted the card. This set also had a Joker Promo for DC Dark Villains 2 ( which ultimately was never produced)20181231_232323.thumb.jpg.3576bfe656a263639b26ab9efbcc103b.jpg20181231_194359.thumb.jpg.74873d8a460829932216dfded4086b06.jpg20181231_232343.thumb.jpg.dae43d2bcc388b9eb0fcee65a05b4b9c.jpg20181231_232413.thumb.jpg.c3cb7eaeb90541615bcbed3c5ec818f7.jpg20181231_194956.thumb.jpg.15ac7f93ae1cfb35e9efd967eac79060.jpg20181231_194527.thumb.jpg.8ac5b2cdbffc9de69a1b4fce0ce78a36.jpg20181231_194856.thumb.jpg.b270dfeda1525383cf8582afd37489ff.jpg20170621_121938.thumb.jpg.264efbae36efa29a9b8f2c1685249786.jpg

I have been after myself for years to fully catalog, picture and build a webpage to display and give information on all of the DC sets. It has taken forever just to get the 6,000+ pictures I am currently up to and I would not say I am even half way...

But now to break this up a bit some other Doomsday Items..20201109_195338.jpg.0226decf5ed4a69155fe08f44a8422d0.jpg20201109_195322.jpg.6f87ea7cd8bf7ae0680aac77bd88584d.jpg

I noticed you had the SNES game, but the Sega needs some love too..20201109_195303.jpg.45521bfb9b8114c0320a6377837c75e0.jpg

Greatest movie never made. Kevin Smith , Tim Burton, Nicolas Cage cast as Superman. Well at least they made a documentary on why it was never made. 20170815_223959.thumb.jpg.85728a143287c973bb9be6defe43a290.jpg

But now to round out the cards. The Superman Holo Series. This set did contain Doomsday Cards and Inserts. Considered by many collectors to be the bane of their existence , as they actually did 4 variations of this complete set. One Silver, Gold, Bronze , Red. The bronze set was in specific boxes (not marked that contained one bronze per pack) and the bronze were very hard to distinguish from the gold short of having them next to each other, but yes the wrappers did say contain one bronze. The reds were another story. These only came 2 to a box , but were very limited and made this set almost impossible to complete. I was one of 3 that after years of searching and trading that finally completed this set, although now working on a second.  If anyone has any of these let me know! This set like the DC Master Series also has 6 card uncut sheet promos. I was also able to get an uncut sheet of the set.20200304_173233.jpg.b21015e1fcda17125003ecb47e40690e.jpg20200304_173147.jpg.ef392e0d74b36fd41cfbbd365e6502bb.jpg20170617_010830.thumb.jpg.feb79379a654c690490523b81240b091.jpg20170619_135705.thumb.jpg.0a0377852274fa7fea4477caf25e47b4.jpg20170619_135758.thumb.jpg.5e6e711f5e358f333c4b1eb5ab54f1a5.jpg

@onlyweaknesskryptonite  Wow!  Tons of great info and awesome pics!  Didn’t realize they had boxes with the uncut foil cards inside them!  I was living in Japan at the time and would usually order a box or two of cards through a place called Paul and Judy’s. I’d get the base set and whatever chase card/s and then go to the secondary market for what I was missing. Honestly can’t even remember how I found most of them. Anyways, missed out on visiting shops and learning about all these cool extras. Thanks for sharing all of those!

Also, not Doomsday but what do you know about this one?

Actually in a way this does tie in. Joe Jusko did the card art for the then praised and widely popular Marvel Masterpieces.20170710_093005.thumb.jpg.99cdfd66a3066ea83ce13dc1c98b18f1.jpg20170710_122935.thumb.jpg.42ea8896075510288c5f3cd54786fd89.jpg20170619_230212.thumb.jpg.823bc9cec5d193b12e63534ed52c00d1.jpg

Just after he was going to do a card series for superman with DC. So they made some promotional cards to distribute 3 versions  have been found. One limited, numbered,  and signed in gold paint pen. 20181209_022007.thumb.jpg.c389d7f74f7ef7752c1ab486bf6ff9de.jpg

One blank and signed ( these were signed in roughly the same place and in gold paint pen are more than likely from the initial promotion, but after they ran out of the numbered editions.) The last were the left over blank and no signature. Any like yours were more than likely signed later.  DC decided the cards would not be a full trading card set, but instead do a limited series and distributed them with action figures.  The first release of the cards were 4 and they were usually signed by Joe Jusko in black20170819_163359.thumb.jpg.ca8883030f72918f2d67b2ac2f7c235d.jpg20170819_163511.thumb.jpg.0cac06e72fc58da623f7b7bb4f69995d.jpg20170819_163525.thumb.jpg.634737c8b83c421a4a4d758b6cd3cba3.jpg20170819_163431.thumb.jpg.10b399d30ceae099392ad1d5e6be5727.jpg20170819_163448.thumb.jpg.d60299f256df90a3a79cbb3d0aee8e8b.jpg

Then adding to the line and as I said including them as a bonus in action figures. 20201109_230416.jpg.f74cf51934bdb0e6475c1c89341a724e.jpg

which as you can see from the backs of these there were the earlier versions, then the expanded set. 20201109_231922.jpg.e483ddaf9747c6b6da181bf2e128d68f.jpg20201109_230500.jpg.7a09d6aac766f4c93c67047ef3ff5775.jpg

They also had Deluxe versions of these where they realized some people didn't want to open them, but instead display them. So they did these Deluxe packs were the cards were not obscured by the figures and added a couple more Bonus cards in special packs.20201109_225245.jpg.249121b61f1364b0255352d393a58a72.jpg20201109_225337.jpg.ff8facfa3136d7e7d2aa41fd25d5a54d.jpg20201109_225222.jpg.82a09d5cc552e8a9a14b9020f91dfee4.jpg

Now besides the Reign of the Supermen tie in there here is the direct connect.  These packs also had some with bonus comics inside including you guessed it.. Superman vs Doomsday. 20201109_230542.jpg.151741627128931cf8e6383bd130b73c.jpg

Then the more valuable of this set was the planned but never technically released with a toy Superman Man of Steel  Superboy vs King Shark. Which some believe this was made for the toy pack which was not actually produced and so was decided to be used instead as a promotional item and given away.20201109_231244.jpg.ee3a174dfeca33ed1330754aff7b1851.jpg

But here are some other promos that featured Doomsday. First up in the middle is a card from Nintendo Power Magazine from the Super Power Club. 20170701_204646.thumb.jpg.a01309c05484fcdf52b22dafb09c81dd.jpg20170701_204654.thumb.jpg.78ba759796df84b24e156d5cc6c12a2c.jpg

Next is a promo of the Upcoming Previews Magazine and the upcoming Wizard Magazine ( same embossed design later used for the cover. Just left of that is the same image( harder to see not embossed on the card , but also used as a promo)20170701_204532.thumb.jpg.a97edd5e6c9c78788cc3947d2014849a.jpg20170701_204552.thumb.jpg.012d46632370e3538ec5a1cd89ba3c82.jpg20170701_204508.thumb.jpg.92e4cd13940a42a36b929cb0a174c7ba.jpg20170701_204515.thumb.jpg.ba9921109cab24f4e66abd3ad7ea7503.jpg

I know I already shared an image of this, but not the back. This was a promo with the same image as the more common large promo, but this is card size and has the Legacy Promo card back. ( This version can be difficult to find and can be expensive) 1484901091_20170701_210951(1).thumb.jpg.7abbcd4bcb3e9b090c5db25cbcc65acb.jpg20170701_210957.thumb.jpg.fe9876a8f527020bcc31cca7a2c52ea1.jpg

Last are some Canadian Kellogs Cello Insert packs for the Reign of the Supermen. IMG_20190318_012438617.thumb.jpg.8f49ad7a58a3e54bf24ae87747f2fcf4.jpgIMG_20190318_012508605.thumb.jpg.d0293004bc39327b6f4c33266d0262c0.jpg

@onlyweaknesskryptonite Thanks so much!  I have all of the figures but will have to dig them out to look at the cards again. I remember seeing a prototype of the Superboy vs King Shark (on a different card) on Raving Toy Maniac years ago but never knew about the comic... so COOL!  Thanks again for sharing all that and taking the time to write out the history!

@Brandon Shepherd Thanks so much for starting this topic!!  Learning a lot here!

You are welcome. I have been slowly over the years trying to get pictures and sort everything.  Maybe eventually I will get it all done. If I could just quit adding to it , so that I dont keep moving those goal posts.. :roflmao: These boards are some of the few times I have been able to share some of it , other then over the years where I have sold off some of the excess on ebay , or traded to other collectors.

I remember back in the day I bought a few packs of this set, and got the blue redemption card AND 1/2 of the foil chase set. Never sent in the blue card. I sold it several years ago for about $20. Nostalgia got me looking at these again, I was afraid they'd be crazy expensive, but it looks like I did ok! Now I may need to buy them again...

You did good if you got $20 for the redemption card!

These just arrived today, I got the set for $14 plus shipping.

I got some of these figures for Christmas in '94. I was 12 and growing out of toys, I wanted them because they were Superman merch but a part of me was like 'meh' when I got them.

I had Steel, black suit Superman, Counduit, Superman w. the chains and the Doomsday Hunter/Prey pack. I wish I still had them.

Ha ha, I was quoting you on my phone, as I was editing your quote to include only the action figures I found I could not add what I wanted to say. So I hopped on the lap top and put in my comments.

Ah.. I see it now. Haha.. yeah I remember getting most of these at 20200822_095953.jpg.ebf5ae8bf1ef22bc78e09103e72509bb.jpg

Most a big discounts as I was really there to pick up comic packs, but when I saw them on sale would pick them up. Then years later when I was working on completing my DC non sports cards sets including all promos I realized that most of the DC Superman Joe Jusko cards I already had. Still had to get a few, but in the process ended up finding them already opened for a cheap price.
