TOP GUN: MAVERICK starring Tom Cruise (2020)

While I'm disappointed that this trailer seems to confirm Kazanski's death, this is my most anticipated film of 2020.

Really hoping they go the Battlestar Galactica / Space Cowboys route with this - where Chinese or Russian hacking grounds our fleet of drones & F-35s and Maverick is thus called back to combat duty because he's one of the few still able to fly an old-school F-14.

How sad is it that the only movies anyone’s excited for are all either remakes or sequels?

Every movie people seem to get excited for are movies that have their origins in something before 2008. So few original fully created properties have been released in the last 12 years, at least one folks are excited for.

:gossip:   Bloodshot!

The movie based on the 1993 comic series? Not really sure that’s a huge deal and it is sorta based on an older product.

The Bloodshot movie is based on the 2012 comics series (which was an updating/relaunch of the 1992 character).

Back to the topic of Top Gun: Maverick - it definitely looks like they've embraced the age difference, so it may be a money grab sequel, but at least they can't be accused of rushing back to the studio after the first one. lol

beware the black widow's bite

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Schedules Departure From Fourth Of July Weekend

Doesn’t look like Black Widow was a factor. They ended up pushing at least ten of their movies back. Maybe thinking more chains will be open as vaccinations are rolling now? Or maybe BW did affect it as they don’t want to share IMAX screens with it. All about maximizing profit.
