I don't know...I might be old, but I've never thought of $2000 being a deal for anything...hmlol

Most I've ever spent on a comic was $725, so yeah, I can't think of $2000 being a deal for me personally.  But I understand that in the current market it really is a steal...

I'll stick with the copy I got decades ago for around $10.  Not high grade, but not a dog either.

Side note:  I can't think of a single other comic using a similar background color.  I could spot this one from a mile away just by that.

That's a hell of a deal! Nice when you buy far enough in advance haha. Most I ever spent was about $19K on an incomplete Tec 27. But I made money on it :). So was a deal.

Holy snickerdoodles, I finally picked up a nice copy of this incredibly hard book to find!!! Woohoo!!!

There is another copy on ebay, but a bit more than I wanted to spend with that one. Surprised you don't own the 9.6 on this lol @zzutak

Congratulations -- that a very nice mid-grade copy, and 4x is a very reasonable price to pay these days!  (thumbsu  (thumbsu  (worship)

One of the challenges I've always had as a collector is that I hate nasty miswraps, even on pedigreed copies .  I realize they're not considered a flaw by CGC, but they offend my eye.  And even worse than miswrapped copiess are miswrapped copies that have been given the CPR treatment.  I avoid 'em like the plague. :fear:

Yeah for me, if it came off the press that way then it don't bother me. Obviously great when you can get a nicely aligned wrap though I agree.

Nice scores.  (thumbsu  The SA #33 has always been a personal fave, and the SA #89 was one of the last holes I filled in my certified run.  Here's one that just returned home from a one month vacation in Sarasota.  The new highest graded copy (acquired raw at a very, very nice price  ).

Thanks, and yeah 33 is a great cover!

You know I always thought the rarity was mainly in the 20-100 issue range, but I'm starting to realize issue 101 to what, like 120ish are also pretty rare. Case in point, your newly anointed 8.0. Great pickup!

And the #72 has just jumped up my want list, even if this sale is a fluke it's a great cover.

Yeah I mean it’s certainly a nutty sale. I can understand questioning it, but have to imagine it’s legit. Just don’t know why someone would get shady with that particular book, but who knows lol. Some solid sales across the board! But that was certainly the most impressive.

Oh, I'm not questioning that's it's legit; I just think it might be one of those weird outliers that pop up now and then.  Who knows what the next copy in a similar grade will go for?

Oh I see!

I’d be surprised if we see one come up for sale again any time in the near future. Only 6 graded copies. So more likely they are in people’s long term collections, but you never know. Would certainly be interesting to see a comparable copy hit an auction.
