The more than one percent decrease in 9.8s since 2017 may be attributable to all those movie submissions ~2017 2018 2c. 9.4s increased by almost 7% in the same time. Fantastic work!!!

It really is amazing work that he has done

It explains the mystery of ASM 300

@valiantman

Is there math you could do to determine the value of ASM 300 if there was only 123 graded 9.8 like IH 181?

It's speculative, but sure... the big question would be... in this scenario that if there were only 123 CGC 9.8 ASM #300, would there be 22,000 ASM #300 on the CGC Census (like now) or just 13,000 (like Hulk #181)?

Just 13,000 like hulk 181...but most importantly only 123 9.8s instead of 1,005

A simple way to answer would be that the current "total value" of CGC 9.8 ASM #300 is around $2,600,000 because there are 1,300 CGC 9.8 (Universal + Signature) valued around $2,000 each (if you ignore the signatures), for a $2,600,000 total. If the same $2,600,000 total value for CGC 9.8 ASM #300 was spread over 123 copies, instead of 1,300, they'd be about $21,100 each.  I like to use Universal + Signature totals, though, because Signature Series are Universals with "extra value" in the signatures and we can just ignore that extra value.  That's 135 copies for Hulk #181, so the $2,600,000 spread of 135 copies would be about $19,250 each.

Another way to see the same thing... since CGC 9.8 Hulk #181 is worth about $34,000 now, and there are 135 of them... that CGC 9.8 Hulk #181 total is $4,590,000.   The total value of CGC 9.8 ASM #300  is $2,600,000, which is 56.6% of the CGC 9.8 Hulk #181 total of $4,590,000.  Since CGC 9.8 Hulk #181 is $34,000 each, if CGC 9.8 ASM #300 was 56.6% of that amount (if there were an equal number of both books), that would be $19,250 each for CGC 9.8 ASM #300.

We would get a different answer if we said that there were only 135 CGC 9.8 ASM #300 after 22,000 submissions.

Was there a disparity in the amount of total copies marvel printed between 1974 and 1988? Just referring to major titles. Would it be right to assume less total printings from earlier periods like the silver age?
