Batman #497 - missing inner cover

I saw a CGC "Non-Graded" Batman #497 that sold fo 200 (link below). I have the same comic in my collection, and was wondering if CGC is able to determine that is a manufacturing error, as opposed to someone just removing the inner cover.

I am going to start selling my collection to start upgrading to more desirable books, and I am trying to decide whether or not getting this book slabbed is worth it.

Thanks in advance.

If it is the genuine article then CGC would run a check on it in the same way that they can tell if a book has a married cover.  To remove the cover smoothly on that issue I would imagine that it would have to be disassembled. CGC would probably be able to tell if that occurred.

If it was torn awayI would imagine it would loosen other pages from the force on the staples.

Either way, I would write manufacturing error when you submit and see what happens.

And this is not to sound sarcastic but call CGC.  I have always found them quite helpful over the phone and I believe that this is something that they would ask a grader over the phone as to how best document it when you send it in.
