Frisco Larson
Following along with the Mexican Edition title, Misterios Del Gato Negro is the shared cover art to Journey Into Unknown Worlds #44. Frisco Larson
They must have really gotten their moneys worth out of THIS artwork, as here it is, used AGAIN for another La Prensa title, El Despertar del Mundo! As stated in the previous post, there was an American comic that used this artwork as well, that issue being Journey Into Unknown Worlds #44. Fun! Popular Post Frisco Larson
Ok, this is another of those "odd findings" that I happened to come across in my searches. While this probably wouldn't appeal to most collectors, the historical nature of it made me want it for my collection. As it states on the attached form, this is a "Foreign File Copy" stapled to the front cover and containing the issues information. This copy also has 3 punch holes (admittedly, not too desirable), which was likely part of its storage process. Although it's not likely to be in any big demand, the one-of-a-kind status of this copy makes it an easy one to include in my collection. Frisco Larson
On to some of the Marvel pre hero books that I love so much, this one shares cover art with Journey Into Mystery #71. I also have a splash pic I can include, just for fun. Sorry about the crummy border obscuring, but the original pics from when I bought it had some distracting backgrounds. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
Another pre hero Marvel, this time a cover brother to Journey Into Mystery #69. I'm also including an interior pic, for those that like the insides too. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
This lesser condition copy sports the same cover art as Journey into Mystery #57. Once again, I take 'em as I can get 'em. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
This spiffy robot cover (which I love) is a La Prensa version of Journey Into Mystery #53. This one is actually in pretty decent condition compared to others of this era that I've found. bc and mec3437
Frisco Larson
This one is a particular favorite of mine! The fact that a Viking type character would be cover feature 31 issues before The Mighty Thor in this same title makes me happy! Mexican Edition of Journey Into Mystery #52 right here. Another of the books with a date stamp which I find interesting and helpful in trying to establish when these books hit the stands. Frisco Larson
High grade example of Journey Into Mystery #42, Spanish style. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
As Journey Into Mystery is a run of books that I really enjoy, I managed to grab about as many Mexican Editions as I could. Getting closer to the beginning of the run here, with issue #38. bc and mec3437
Frisco Larson
Nice presenting lower grade copy (stains on back) of a La Prensa issue of Journey Into Mystery #32. bc and mec3437
Frisco Larson
This Mexican Edition depicts the earliest Journey Into Mystery issue (by cover art) that I currently own, which is issue #24. As some of you may know, American issues in and around this era are quite expensive and challenging to find in quality condition. I'd love to someday match up American Editions to all of the Mexican Editions that I have found. I have some, but not that many. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
A straight up beautiful Spanish copy of Astonishing #63. The colors on this one are very bright and this copy is very fresh! mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
A rougher La Prensa example of Astonishing #61. The spectacular Bill Everett cover made this a must have, even in lesser condition. Get Marwood & I, bc and mec3437
Frisco Larson
Mexican Edition counterpart to American issue of Astonishing #28. Lesser condition than I'd like it, yet I'm happy to have it all the same. mec3437 and bc
Frisco Larson
La Prensa version of Journey Into Mystery #82, with a couple of interior pics to compare for those with an American copy. mec3437, bc and Get Marwood & I
rjpb
Very cool collection, I like these Mexican editions of U.S. comics, especially the horror stuff. Frisco Larson
Frisco Larson
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! It's been a labor of love with these books, tracking them down and identifying them. I've really been bitten by the Atlas bug in recent years! I debated whether or not to start this thread, not knowing if anybody would even bother to look at it. I'm VERY happy to see that some are!!! Frisco Larson
As mentioned in the opening statement of this thread, I've been picking up several genres by a few different publishers. I will shift from the horror and pre hero books (for now) and post a few different genres. This book is a Mexican Edition of Lorna, the Jungle Queen #4. It is published by Editora Sol. It appears as though they did some downsizing in the bosom area of the artwork. bc and mec3437
