It's been five years since Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight emerged to mass acclaim, and the studio's long silence has led fans to speculate about what its next project might look like. According to a report from Eurogamer, we might finally have our answer. A cache of recently-registered domain names first spotted on ResetEra, including "SuicideSquadGame.com," indicate that Rocksteady is developing a game based on DC's Suicide Squad. Eurogamer has corroborated that this is the case According to Eurogamer, one domain may turn out to be the game's final title, and serves as a summary of the game's central idea: "SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com."

The domain name "GothamKnightsGame.com" was also listed, which is reportedly a reference to a new Batman game under development at Warner Bros. Montreal. That studio is best-known for creating Batman: Arkham Origins back in 2013. Additional details about both of these projects may be revealed at Warner Bros. DC Fandome event in August. From what the report suggests, Gotham Knights is further along in development. Both of these projects are in-development for next-gen consoles.

Warner Bros. Montreal has continually teased some sort of Batman-related project for months now, with tweets going back to September 2019. This has led to some fans of the Arkham series to express displeasure at the lack of further announcements. That finally seems set to change later this summer.

Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady is reportedly working on a Suicide Squad game.

New domains related to Suicide Squad surfaced over the weekend, as one ResetEra user spotted. The first, registered June 16, is simply SuicideSquadGame. The second, more descriptive domain was registered June 17: SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com.

These domains are curious, but ordinarily they wouldn't raise too much suspicion, especially with no clear link to Rocksteady in their data (apart from shared registrar MarkMonitor). However, Eurogamer corroborated these domains, and reports that the latter may even be the final title - and indeed the running theme - for a new Suicide Squad game in the works at Rocksteady.

n a separate but similar vein, a domain for GothamKnightsGame.com was also spotted online. According to Eurogamer, this is reportedly attached to the new, unannounced Batman game in the works at Warner Bros. Montreal. The studio has been teasing a new Batman game for months, and Warner Bros. was reportedly planning to reveal the game at E3 2020.

With E3 cancelled and events scattered all over the summer, WB Montreal's Gotham Knights and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game are now reportedly set to be revealed - as next-gen projects, no less - at the big DC show coming in August. It's worth remembering that neither of these games have been publicly confirmed by their respective developers, but the bread crumbs are really piling up now. After months of teases and rumors, we should get an announcement soon enough.

The DC Fandome, scheduled for August 22, is set to become DC's biggest online event ever, with major players from TV, games, comics, and movies, including a potential return for Watchmen.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Officially Revealed

Quote

Rocksteady Studios’ new Suicide Squad game is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the studio and Warner Bros. announced this week. Warner Bros. shared its extensive lineup for the DC FanDome event on Friday and confirmed the name of the game while setting the date and time for when we’ll learn more about it from Rocksteady Studios. It’ll be joined by a number of other panels pertaining to Warner Bros. projects, some of them related to more gaming properties other than the new Suicide Squad game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have its time to shine during the DC FanDome event on August 22nd during a panel held later in the day at 7 p.m. We’ll see Will Arnett attending the event as well to help reveal the new Rocksteady game to the world.

“Will Arnett hosts the highly anticipated video game reveal from Rocksteady Studios, creators of the Batman: Arkham franchise,” Warner Bros.’ preview of the reveal said.

This panel event will last around 20 minutes, Warner Bros. said. We don’t yet know what all we can expect from the event in terms of gameplay, plot details, and other reveals, but that timeframe is plenty of time to show off more on the new Suicide Squad game.

WB Games Provides E3 2021 Update on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Quote

WB Games has provided an update on Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and its other highly-anticipated games, all of which sound like they won't be present at E3 in any capacity, other than Back 4 Blood, which will be at the show in a major way. Earlier this month, it was revealed the publisher was going to have a special livestream during E3 2021, leading many to boarding the hype train en masse, hoping the games above would all resurface at once. However, this entire livestream will be dedicated to Back 4 Blood, the new Left 4 Dead-style game from the makers of Left 4 Dead.

For now, it's not 100 percent clear if WB Games' presence will be limited to Back 4 Blood, but it sounds like it will be. It's possible its other games will show up at other pressers, like Xbox and Summer Games Fest, but the way it's been relayed to us by PR, the publisher isn't going to be present beyond this Back 4 Blood presentation.

It wouldn't be very surprising if Back 4 Blood was the only game present. Unlike the aforementioned three games, it's releasing this year, so WB Games would be smart to focus on it. Meanwhile, with DC FanDome returning this year, we will likely get updates on Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League soon. However, for now, this is just speculation.

Good trailer, they've got a good track record, but it's way too early to make any determinations. Definitely on my watch list, though.

A new interactive teaser for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was shared this week that gives people the opportunity to contact DC's Amanda Waller, the character who directs the actions of the Suicide Squad group. The number can be called or texted with different results depending on which method you choose, but it seems as though texting will lead to more communications in the future. This teaser also conspicuously comes ahead of the game's appearance at the upcoming DC FanDome event.

The contact number for Waller can be seen below courtesy of the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Twitter account after it was shared with no additional context. If you try and call the number, you'll get a pre-recorded message from Waller who assumes that you're Harley Quinn trying to prank her. Waller reprimands you for calling when you've been given so many weapons and resources to take out your targets and demands that you get back to work.

If you text the number, however, you'll get a different result. You'll get a response that says "This is Amanda Waller – do you have A.R.G.U.S. clearance to be speaking with me?" A link is also provided that'll allow people to enter in their name and contact information so that they can presumably receive further updates about the game. Doing so earns you another response from Waller saying that you're in the system but that you shouldn't expect her to answer right away whenever you contact her.

That's looking pretty good. It's also making me wish idly was done Ultimate Alliance style, but reinvented (if that makes sense).
