I get people saying Cruise wasn't physically built/imposing like Jack Reacher is described in books, but would the 1st Jack Reacher movie have done $218 million on a $60 million budget if instead of Cruise as the lead you had someone that was physically more in line with Reacher, but was an unknown?  Would a second movie have been made and now a streaming series?  Granted these questions cannot be answered, but I personally don't think the movies would have done as well (or even been made) had it not been for Cruise.

For the most part he is one of the last "Bankable" actors out there when it comes to putting butts in seats at the theaters.

Every word of this was said by Lee Child in an interview on his old web-site.

Agreed. That first movie was action gold. No matter what the books reflect.

It's like if folks really reflected on Tony Stark in the comic books is 6'1" tall, yet Robert Downey JR is 5'9" tall. Where the pitchforks then over this height concern?

For me it wasn’t the height.  5’6” Stallone can be made to look much bigger.

Reacher is described as a rough hewn man.  NOBODY reading the books pictures facial features like Tom Cruise.

Amazon Prime Video's Reacher is now a Smalville reunion of sorts thanks to the addition of Kristin Kreuk.

Kreuk, who famously played Lana Lang in the CW series, joins Alan Ritchson, who was Smallville's version of Arthur Curry/Aquaman. Kreuk will play Charlie, "a refined former debutante who is living the Country Club life with her husband Hubble, but who is much tougher than she appears."

Amazon reveals the first look at its Jack Reacher TV series adaptation with new images revealing Alan Ritchson starring in the titular role. The character, created by British author Lee Child and the protagonist of 26 novels to date, is a former US Army military police major who roams the country taking odd jobs and utilizing his skills to assist those in suspicious and dangerous situations. The property would finally make its way to the screen with 2012's Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise in the titular role and pairing him with director Christopher McQuarrie for the first time before his current position as writer and director of the recent Mission: Impossible films.

After a few months of silence on the show's progress, Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first look at Amazon's Jack Reacher TV series with new images. The photos reveal Ritchson starring in the titular role as a more book-accurate Reacher as well as supporting stars Fitzgerald and Goodwin.

I cannot begin to express how epically pleased that Reacher has finally been done justice.

This show is superb - Lee Childs must be grinning from ear to ear.

An absolute 'must see' for any fans of the books.

And a great book to start with too.

Alan Ritchson nails it!

Loving it!!!!
