As the earliest English-language comic book, it would be Adventures of Mr. Obadiah Oldbuck (Tilt & Bogues, 1841) .... if one were ever graded.  The sample page below should be as WP as you could get pre-mid-1840s (it wasn't until after 1843 that the Hollingsworth brothers in Massachusetts patented a process for whitening manila stock using a rag boiler).   Luckily, seems to be as "white" as it ever was!

I guess this page also includes the earliest known hanging and/or attempted suicide panel in an English-language comic book!
