Assuming this show happens is there any chance it will feature more Canadian Artists? In the past there have been good opportunities with people like Jock but it would be nice to have a Canadian Artist Panel with signing opportunities. Have a place like Gotham or Big B facilitated and submit books. It would be cool to have a book signed by a myriad of artists and submitted. Make remarks and sketches an option. It would be a great way to showcase Canadian artists and provide value to the show that might have limited guest options.

The show is always full of Canadian creator talent, the majority are at their tables autographing, sketching, remarking, etc. so I'm not sure what you are asking for? We usually have about 120-140 creator guests, approx. 20-25 are brought in for the event, so the rest are overwhelmingly Canadian. Do you mean you want us to schedule special events with regulars like the VIP events we schedule with the out of town guests?

Right now if you want a book with a myriad of guests you make a list and submit to a facilitator or have a CGC witness accompany you to their table.

Of course the show is always full of Canadian talent. What I am saying is, as you mention, to offset the potential lack of International talent setting up specific opportunities for sketches, remarks, etc. as has been done with people like Jock, the Comic Sketch Art group, etc. This has never excluded Canadians but, in this current climate, a specifically Canadian panel and signing/sketch opportunity would be interesting to many. In a terrible year have a book signed and sketched by numerous Canadian artists would have appeal. It would provide value to the VIP ticket and be a way for artists to potentially make a little extra money.

So I am saying have a room with a bunch of Canadian artists with a CGC witness there. It has been done in the past and it allows people to move freely within a room and have it submitted at the end. It is efficient and really fun for those interested in such things. You always have a lot for Canadian artists, and that is great, I was just pontificating is this would be a year to highlight them as the International creator list might be a problem.

You should see announcements in the near future. We are working on it but I can’t say much about it until they give the go ahead.

in the meantime, get vaccinated so we can have 100,000 people in a hall someday.

Still on track for this show, Kevin?  I'm receiving zero correspondence from Fan Expo Canada/Informa... (shrug)

So thing is, we were all waiting for news too, so hard to give concrete answers to all of these questions. Expect news and communication soon on the 2021 event.

Edit: nevermind, read the guest list wrong

While obviously not the fault of Fan Expo thisnis frustrating. The vaccination rate will be north of 60% by then. When do we get to open the world up again?

60% is nowhere near the required threshold required in order for an event like this to be held.

2022 might be more realistic.

No, put you could do as the CDC does and let people that are fully vaccinated attend without a mask. For mingling sure, 60% might not due it, but let those tat are vaccinated get on with it. That's all.
