Help with potential ERROR card - Evolutions Mewtwo STAFF Prerelease - Stamp error?

Hi!

I've got a curious card here that I'm wondering about. A Staff Prerelease Mewtwo from the Evolutions prerelease. The STAFF stamp simply doesn't have any color to it - only the indentation from the stamping itself.

I've known of 'ghost stamps' where ink wasn't applied properly etc. resulting in a half impression of the intended stamp but not sure if it's the same with this card. Would CGC consider such an error - or care to explain why not? I submitted it with an error qualifier but just received it back as 'inelligible type' (altough it was initially graded albeit as the regular version of the card with no qualifer - not sure what happened there). Curious to know if this type of error would be considered (maybe at a later point) as similar types of recognized errors seem to exist (example 'Professor Elm's Training Method, Professor Program 2007-2008 - No Stamp).

Happy collecting!

Hello,

No,sorry. We are unable to grade this particular type of error as it is essentially impossible to authenticate.

Hi Paul,

I recently submitted an order with several types of card errors and after reading your response to this post I'm a little concerned that it won't qualify as an error despite them being legitimate known errors. I am now worried that I won't see these cards for a year+ and will just get them sent back. I left a very specific note on the packing slip and even included non-error versions of the cards to be graded that you guys can literally do a side by side comparison of. They are all pack fresh never played.

  1. The first is No Texture error - this happens to full art cards that are supposed to be printed on a textured card with ridges but they accidentally get printed on a regular flat card. This is very well documented and well known error that is extremely rare. Here is some evidence of it:

I couldn't comprehend any reason a card like this couldn't be graded, but could you please let me know how CGC would handle this card?

2. The second is Holo Bleed errors. These are also extremely well known and documented and verified. The holo portion of the card is showing up where it's not supposed to be (for example, edges, description, etc.) In this case I also provided a copy of the card that has no error for reference. It is a very clear error.

Would there be any reason these would not be accepted? And will I know before I got invoiced if they will be able to be graded?
