CGC is excited to announce that we will be hosting an In-House Private Signing event with Inkpot Award-winning comic book artist, Denys Cowan! Cowan has worked for both DC and Marvel during his impressive career. In the 1990s, Cowan, along with a handful of comic industry pioneers, formed Milestone Media, whose goal was spotlighting under-represented minorities in comics. In addition to signing, Cowan will be offering Remarques for purchase. See pricing and details below.

Cowan began his comic industry career at DC Comics, where his first published work was a story in Weird War Tales. He developed and refined his skills during his time with DC and became well known for his work on The Question. Other series Cowan has worked on for DC include Superman, The Flash, Detective Comics, Teen Titans, Green Arrow and Black Lightning. Cowan has also penciled many Marvel Comic series such as Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Black Panther, Deathlok and Moon Knight.

Cowan’s work with Milestone Media pushed boundaries and ultimately led to more minority representation in the comic industry. It also gave birth to the well-known character Static Shock. Cowan has had a remarkable career. After his early years in comics, he became Senior Vice President of Animation at BET and then Senior Vice President of Motown Animation and Filmworks. He has been a champion for minority representation both in comics and animation throughout his career, and in 2013, Cowan received an Inkpot Award for the amazing work he’s done.

“The CGC Signature Series team is thrilled to have Denys Cowan join us for this In-House Private Signing event,” said Brittany McManus, CGC Signature Series Director. “He is a true pioneer in the comic industry. The work he did with Milestone Media group and the animation work he has been a part of have really helped comics become more inclusive and representative for minorities.”

Gonna assume that's supposed to say "Jim Lee AND Alex Sinclair signature"

@stinkininkin Not sure if this is something you can answer, but why did CGC not offer a pencil/ink/color trifecta bundle with you in the mix?

Anybody know when Eastman and the gang will be doing the Last Ronin signing?

not sure @Ryan. I originally thought it had happened, it has not though (thumbsu

My guess would be by end of month, given the deadline was May 6th to have them in. Past that idk.

They had done a Facebook video and posted from the last signing, which threw me off into thinking somehow it had happened, I was wrong lol

Sorry for any confusion :sorry:

Wait, wait, there's been actual movement on one of my Claremont Sig Series submissions. It has moved to G/E/I. Other one is "Scheduled for Grading." Both went to CCS.

awesome, nice to see someone report. I know it's a long shot, but anyone with Eastman movement?

lol CCS charged me like a couple of days before mine was signed, but then I called to have cgc charge me as well, because there was room on my card before the statement ended.

HaHa now I'm like will it go slower lol but departments aren't supposed to know the other, but again, with payment they might

Anyway, it'll be nice to see something back, period, Gook Luck Peoples!

Good for you. My Bendis SS submission has been in SFG since beginning of May.  Hope it makes some movement next week.  What is odd is that I already got one back and both went to CCS like you.  I would have thought that they would have been done together and sent back together like my other submissions.
