Personalized Message During Signature Event

I'm new to signature events and know a personalized message will devalue a comic. However the sentimental value of a personalize message (for a loved one) in my case would be worth dropping $300+ dollars.

CGC says your best bet at pulling something like this off would be to have a note on your window bag in hopes that the signer might see it.

Has anyone had any luck with anything like this? Again I apologies as I'm talking about ruining a comic here.

A very reasonable question and request.  I think the consensus answer would be .... it depends.

the creator, the event, the message, the situation, the facilitator, the line, ETc

the best way to get this done is to contact the facilitator of the Cgc SS event ahead of time to see if there is a process or special instructions or fee to get this done.

I have a bunch of stuff that was personalized. Mostly from situations where I had a great interaction with the signer and they asked me what my name was.  Laurie Holden, P. Craig Russell, Robert Rodriguez, Corey Feldman all personalized. And they were all great because I had a really good time with all of them.

If you are not going to be at the signing, put a big sticky note with the person's name and the message at the top of the window bag. It may not get done, but it may. Good luck!
