It is cool.  Also, UK book, so you were right with colour the first time.

Thanks Eric. You're one of a tiny number who read my ramblings here at CGC. I sometimes think the only one. Thank you :foryou:

Evening :)

I was reading a nice article earlier explaining how halftones are created in the four color printing process that our Alan would have put to good use back in the (hey)day.

Here's the Doc...

...and his original printing plate (reversed):

Zoom in on this section of Ock's ugly mug, and you can see how the glasses are a solid block of colour, sorry, color, but the face is made up of a series of small dots:

You can see on the printing plate that the solid block of colour is smooth, as you might expect, but the face area just below it shows all those small dots which achieve the half tone effect:

Cool, isn't it :)

I'm such an insufficiently_thoughtful_person.  READ before writing.  READ before writing.  Read before writing...

This is exactly what I wanted to know.  Feel free to disregard my other thread cross-question.

I think we'll add other Classy type reprint books here. Millers, WDL, Cartoon Art etc.

Here's a cracker - somewhat rare - the unnumbered Spellbound Magazine from Glazgee:

Who'd have thought you'd find AF#15 in that!

I dunno, Ditko had work in a lot of the U.S. issues of Out of This World, so why wouldn't there be Ditko stories in the UK version as well?

Only on the CGC Boards can you post a Cartoon Art rarity, throw in a Carpenters joke, a Scottish referendum line, and get nothing 9_9

Here I would be far more surprised if you got Something

I only know two people who collect Cartoon Art publications and I know for a fact they are dead

Talking of dead I carried out my threat and jumped up and down on my laptop

Don’t think a phone is suitable alternative

Think I’ll go and read a comic and then look for some mouldy old UK reprint comics made in scotland

Reading this today

Indeed. I tagged you in the Harvey graveyard yesterday, re that Spellbound ad if you want to take a peak and take a guess at who Teddy might have been.  Never heard of Rust, but it looks like something I'd like.

They are interesting, aren't they. Since you posted that Spellbound ad I've been paying more attention to them - it's cool when they tie in with what you have in the files.

I need to track down the original version of that ad, I'm 99.9% certain it was for MAD or PANIC (or just possibly EC in general) originally and it looks bizarre advertising a book from PRIZE.

I was going through some old files earlier and found, to my surprise, that I owned and sold this not so long ago:

acset3.thumb.jpg.f97b7392e151dee364e87513ac1a8ca6.jpg

Fancy selling that. What a tosspot I can be at times.

Don't say it.
