Bo_Hogg1
I don't like brittle pages like anybody else but if it has a great cover and you never take it out of the slab so no one can see the brittle pages, well............ What do you think?

Funnybooks
I have yet to find a brittle copy of a book that tempted me enough to add it to my collection. I'm not steadfastly opposed to it but I would rather try to hold out for the "right" copy. If it were all about just looking at the cover or to display, I would buy a print. or less
innocuous
Not sure what motivated you to start this thread, but yesterday or 2 days ago when Greg Reece posted the Archie 1 with brittle pages, I was VERY tempted. I decided no and got a stomach ache. Edited May 13, 2021 by innocuous Larryw7
Popular Post Badger
I've only bought one and it was previously MRBedrock's copy so that should tell you how rare it is. tabcom, Larryw7, goldenacase and 7 others
Grendel72
Surely depends on the prestige of the book ? A highly desirable Golden Age book with.brittle pages makes it that much more affordable to those with similar brittle finances. Those with deep pockets may flee in horror but if its a Gerber 9 type.. then again...I have seen slabbed books with brittle pages retain its structure even after a decade. I would jump in a heartbeat for a coverless Action 1 with brittle pages if it wasn't so damn expensive. Hudson

piper
I have a Contact 12 CGC 5.0 with slightly brittle pages. It’s the only example in my collection. This book doesn’t come up for sale often enough for me to be too picky. Badger, Courageous Cat and ThothAmon

JollyComics
1938 - Action Comics #1 will be 100 years old in only 17 more years. Most popular comic books in 1940's - they will be 100 years old in only 20 more years. How often will you find them and how much can you afford them? Brittle pages or not.
