Despite there being plenty of 9.8s available, I don’t EVER recall seeing one without scuffing towards and around the top left staple. Has anyone here ever seen one without this flaw?

Like this? My #2 has this and has always made me hesitant to have it graded. Would be nice to know if this is on all of them.

That’s the one. I LITERALLY haven’t seen a single example without it, even in 9.8 but there seems to be varying degrees to the scuffing and color loss. The same flaw also affects the rear of the book around the same area of the staple.
 

CGC must be making allowances for it being as all (that I’ve seen) 9.8s and below have the same issue.

Well heck, thanks for bringing it up. Checked a few out myself and definitely see several with the same scuffing pattern. Maybe reconsider having it graded.  

Id assume that kind of stuff would be mentioned in the graders notes? Anyone have one recently graded to share some notes on?
