Folks who buy collections to break up and resell: What does your process look like? How, and at what point, do you cherry-pick, grade, identify pressing candidates, alphabetize, order by number, create bundles, scan/photograph, generate listings, etc? How do you optimize space utilization, time and cost efficiency, and cash flow/inventory turn?

 

There's an extreme shortage of this type of information online (most of what's published on the topic being extremely general, and not intended for professional resellers), and I think many of us continue to needlessly reinvent the wheel. I'm sure this topic has been touched on here in the past, but I couldn't find anything that was really focused on workflow and efficiency.

 

The more granular you're willing to get, the better. Photos and diagrams appreciated as well.

Great question and welcome to the boards. Here is the formula I use to determine whether a book is worthy of grading/pressing. It needs updating now that the pricing has changed. Hope it helps
