Really confused on how my card got a 6.5...

Here's the card that got a 6.5. I would think it would be something obvious to the eye that made it get that grade but I can't seem to find anything so could anyone chip in if you spot anything

I submitted one earlier that got an 8.5 so you can use it as reference although the lighting is different here.

Gotta say, the image quality on your 6.5 is awful. It also looks like it was imaged on a dirty, waterstained, and torn piece of paper. Sad.

Nothing stands out that I noticed, so best guess is the usual surface damage, a hard to see crease or dent of some sort.

Might be some kind of fold that we cant see in the image or some holo scratching. Edges and corners look good though

Can't seem to see any folds in person. Idk if surface grade weighs that much but I would think it has to get a 2 or 3 on a subgrade to bring it down that much..

If the surface grade was a 2 or 3, you’d only get bumped up by 1 whole point above that as long as the other sub grades were at least 1.5 points higher. With it being a 6.5, process of elimination has to be surface damage from the looks of it.

The lowest centering can be is 8, the corners and edges look fine too. Sub grade on the surface is probably a 5.5 for whatever reason.

Not sure what is going on with CGC, look at this. How did this card get a 6...

Meanwhile I send 200 mint factory sealed flawless promo cards untouched by human hands, great centering, no warp, no flaws and I get 7.5-9.5 the majority below 9. I send the same cards to other grading services and get majority 10s.

This card is clearly a lower grade. It seems to have been a switch with another card on the invoice. We will reach out to the customer.

As in, both cards were raw and to be slabbed and got crossed on the label? So he has a cleaner looking card in a slab that has a '1'?

Clearly is the key word here.  Isn't this the type of obvious mistake that an attentive Quality Control tech would catch in approximately one second?  So we're actually talking about a minimum of two different CGC staff members whiffing on a single pitch.  Unsettling, to say the least.  :boo:
