Read it finally.  It was standard fare with the regular Spawn book.  Haunt was probably the most surprising part.

Me too. I picked it up digitally to read and finally got around to reading it last night.

I think I need to read it again as I was incredibly tired and I found the story to be a bit meh... I want to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another read when I'm not shattered.

But the art was phenomenal!!

I just dont really know what's the difference between this "world" and what they did in the 90s with all those spin off titles....

Curse of the Spawn, Medieval Spawn, Spawn the Undead, Spawn Dark ages, etc.

I thought about this day so pardon my rant

But there is a thread in comics general, under 50 count books on the census.  I just imagine 20 years down the road similar threads will be filled with these covers that hardly anyone obtained and then they slabbed.

We'll see (thumbsu

Not too many variants of the 90s get mentioned here except perhaps Newsstands and I like some of them so who knows lol

Anyone know when the census will be updated on this one?  Will it be next week sometime?  I think it's been at least a week at the same #'s and I'm certain many more have been slabbed in that timeframe.  The grading cutoff for SS labels is on the 25th of this month for them to be received, right?

Well good news to report is that the non-graded raw sales seem to still be going in the $800-1K range but once the 25th deadline passes who knows how that will affect the value.  Still no new census updates so hopefully we'll see an updated total amount graded list next week.  Legitimate looking CGC 9.8 in-hand sales (based on eBay data) seem to range in the $1275-$1450 range.  To me, that's a pretty positive outcome when we're about 3-4 weeks post release of these issues!  Once we see the total amount yellow labeled that will be the real litmus test at sustainability on the value of these, though! (thumbsu

Still no news about Gunslinger ratios eh?

I've seen online about there being a 1:250 for it, too, but if so will it come with a COA as well for CGC grading?  If so, I've not heard confirmation on that at least but there seems to be word of a 1:250 signed variant of it, too.  No idea when it has to be ordered by, though (should be soon if not too late already)

From what I can gather, final cut off orders are Sept 20th.  So could still be time.  This is assuming they are in fact doing a signed 1:250 variant again.

I'm going to have to ask my local shop this week

They are doing the same thing, including the 1:50 sketch and the 1:250 signed. Unknown if it has the same CGC 30-day certificate.

I expect The Scorched #1 to be the same.

I've seen that asked around. IMO this is a more cohesive, intertwined take akin to the DCU or Marvel 616. Most of the 90s titles didn't interact with each other, weren't set in the same time Era or were straight up not related to Al Simmons continuity, someone had a Spawn idea that sounded cool and ran with it.

Now he's trying to make a common world with multiple characters running around in multiple books, all spun from the main Spawn ongoing, where events in one book can affect the world and it's consequences are felt in another book. I expect (and hope!) they eventually do an X-Cutioner's Song or Siege of Darkness style big crossover between all books.

Spoke to shop owner today.

FOC is Monday and I placed an order for one of the signed 1:250 copies.  I'll grab the b&w 1:50 as well.

Census was updated yesterday - here are the new #'s!  From what I understand (assuming what I read on Facebook groups is true but that's always as crapshoot) the 15th may have been the cutoff.  My belief is that as long as it gets to CGC by the 25th it'll be safe for a yellow label.  Is there anything online posted by CGC that states an actual cutoff date though (or does anyone know)?

My guess is also there are numerous copies still in queue to be graded along with numerous ones sent off for pressing.  It'll be a few more weeks (maybe months) before these #'s truly settle in I think. 2c

They've released the image for the 1:250 signed variant.  I love the cover!  Not sure if there is enough white space for Todd's signature to really stand out but my guess is he uses a red sharpie again and it should be ok.  Wish the weapons on Gunslingers back pointed up to the right (towards the Image logo). I think that would have helped with the space for Todd's signature.  Either way, love it!

Love the cover, grabbed all 9 variants of Gunslinger #1. And once again my shop secured me the 1:250 incentive for the same price as before, 250€ :)

They have also revealed the main cover by Greg Capullo for The Scorched #1. Capullo also posted the raw pencils on Instagram, which I'm sure will be the 1:50 Incentive.

New census update today - check out the revised #'s!  Do we have any confirmation if they're still taking these for grading?  I'm sure there are plenty still in queue and some with CCS (which will definitely delay the census #'s getting finalized).  Also important to note that there are 13 blue label 9.8's and 1 9.6...could this be a mistake on the census or did some unsigned copies escape, perhaps?

I did think to say that you can still "request a blue label" and take a hit in grade, but idk

After seeing the number of 9.6 and lower grades on the census, and hearing from a LCS owner friend that there were more damaged copies than expected, I am happy that my #1000 is coming back as a 9.8.

That is a great number!

Thanks. My file LCS owner set aside that one for me out of the three they got in which I appreciated. Now I just need to offload 250 copies of the regular covers. lol

At least this is a better chase than when I did the ASM #800 1:1000 - I made a nice profit dumping the variants and some regular covers right away, but still have 800+ copies of the regular cover in cases in the basement. doh!
