Kevin Eastman destroys another comic book grail! 3 3

I saw this on a facebook post. At what point should an artist/creator/writer refuse the request of customer? I feel Kevin Eastman should be ashamed of himself for doing this to this TMNT #1 1st Print. I knew he was a sellout and signs far too much stuff, but this really grinds my gears.

Uniqueness doesn't detract from the fact that he destroyed a great cover with inferior art. He could've done a sketch on anything else, no need to deface a book like this.

Why should Kevin care? It’s not his book. Torpedo wanted it and paid for it. Imagine the flip side. I can imagine torpedo posting how much a person without empathy Kevin is for refusing his commission. I still think a certain creator is a bad person because of the way he reacted when I asked for a commission. My 9.0 first print is blue label cause that’s what I want. But all my subsequent prints are yellow, because that’s also what I want.

Fine, if the comic’s owner is happy with the overall result, and the consequences.

Quite a good sketch, for me better on a blank cover.

Or maybe a better analogy-someone buys OA ASM 1 cover and has McFarlane draw all over it and sign it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally wouldn't have done it to a 1st Print TMNT #1 but not my comic.
