Just look at the old pictures. It's the same art, the same dealers, though maybe some of the art moved from one booth to another

I was going to make the identical post. Some of the dealers moved around the room, with the same art, and there were a few additions, but a lot of people went home empty-handed from what I saw (at least in the morning).

I actually got a nice phantom stranger page oddly enough before I left early to go to a friends wedding (only 6 miles away if you can believe that).

Well I was trying not to be show off y.. but since you asked… stuff bought or traded for at the show … plus a Salvador Larroca complete issue from extreme X-men

I’m curious. Which one? I’m pretty sure I know the stock, but I occasionally miss one or two or two. Bechara was trying to sell a piece by Aparo that was nice but no improvement to what I already have. Donnelly was trying to sell an ad with PS and Dr. 13 by Andru. Nice image, but not exciting, and Dr. 13’s jawline was off. I expect Anthony was still trying to sell his Aparo piece. Again, perfectly nice but not an improvement to what I own. What I really want are the obscure artists for comparative purposes or exceptional pieces from artists I already have (which covers a lot of territory). Like, PS appearances from Blue Beetle (issue 5), Captain Adam or Impulse. All inexpensive, or they should be, and very hard to find.

Appreciate the replies and links to the pictures.

Even if it is mostly "same old, same old" pieces, it's still nice to see them at least.  Especially while things are still struggling to get back to normal.

I find it fascinating that so many people who did not attend the show have so much to say! I had a great time, and it has taken me a few days to catch up and recover! Getting old  

There was plenty of amazing and new art to see at the show. Was some of it the same as before? Sure. But that will be the same for almost any dealer. This show had two dealers who have not been there for some time. Jim Warden and Essential Sequential. Both brought a lot of great art at every price point. Looking through portfolios of other sellers, there were plenty of great pages at reasonable prices available. Now if you are expecting to buy main stream X-Men, Kirby Superhero, Buscema Avengers etc, yes you may leave empty handed. 

Anthony was there in full force with his entire inventory! There are THOUSANDS of pages priced under $500 in his folios if you take the time to look. I have found many great pieces within his folders. Jim Warden had a bunch of John Byrne X-Men and Spiderman related illustrations for UNDER $1000! In fact I bought a 22 page X-MEN BOOK by Salvador Larocca for around $100 a page! 

People, we can complain, or make the best of it. If you choose to enjoy this hobby, you will find ways to enjoy it. If you wish to continue to focus on the dealers that may be priced high and have the same inventory, then you will always be unhappy with the hobby and shows.

It was a Mignola page actually. This was one of the issues he actually pencilled not just breakdowns so I figured good price great image and him using powers, hard to beat. Don’t have a great pick but got one before the wedding when I placed in my trade/sell travel portfolio.

It's a nice page, but I would have passed on it since I already have two from the series I like. I think I have actually seen yours somewhere for sale before the show. These are mine. I would add something noticeably better, but I doubt I would spend the necessary money to get it.
