1st time, long time......

Looking for any thoughts on my Amazing #50.

Items of note:

  • Small separation of top staple, but still connected to the cover.
  • A "bubble" on the back top left. (That I'm hoping will lay flat after a press.)
  • Some color loss scuffing along the spine.
  • A small spine roll that I hope will also settle after a press.

That's all the major stuff I can think of. Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks all!!

You guys really got my hopes up with the 5.5-6.5 estimates.

That was some magical C&P!!!

See this is why I am tempted to start sending some of my Silver Age stuff in. It seems that, like Golden Age books, these are starting to get a little lenient (which maybe is a bad thing). Reality though, the major flaws with this book are the wear spots along the spine and the top edge at the back. I hammered both, but CGC seems less forgiving, especially when the rest of the book (cover, leading corners) appear generally flawless. I do think the press smoothed it out. The staple wear had me wondering how back it really was.

Either way....awesome book....awesome grade....I still need one someday. One I should have checked off the ole Spidey list long ago but didn't

It's actually impressive just how many of the defects were able to press out on this one. I don't think this was a particularly lenient grading, although I might have expected a 7.5 on the back of the top staple wear. The spine wear isn't sufficient to be "frayed spine", and often gets more of a pass than similar wear elsewhere (in part because a certain amount of color loss on the spine fold can often be a consequence of the manufacturing process).

Regardless, congratulations. Fantastic book, and definitely a C&P that paid for itself!
