PGM Strange Tales #110 - Hole Punched! How to grade? 3 3

Hey everyone,

Have a comic here with, what should be a straightforward grade, but still wanted to ask the community.

The issue has 5 binder holes through the book. As you can see in the photo of the Dr. Strange story, the hole do clip tiny portions of story text on some pages. Has a slight spine roll, but I figured considering the binder holes, it's not hurting the technical grade at all.

So what do people think. 1.0, or .5 with pieces missing slightly affects story? Or, even yet, is this a .5 Incomplete?

Interesting. Maybe qualified? It seems the staples are gone?

Staples are present (Dr Strange story isn't at centerfold).

From what I've seen you can request a qualified label, but they will also grade a book like this Universal but it would likely be a .5 or 1.0 at best.

I'm thinking these defects are allowable on books in GD range or lower. I'd give the book a 2.0/2.5 were the hole punches not present.

Hmmmm......... I'd think a 1.5 for this book....... I love any book with ol' Pete in it! Nice!

Its a low grade copy anyway, even without the hole punching. Which is a relief in one way. I'm going FR/GD 1.5

I'd be happy with that copy! Its a survivor.

I will also say 1.5-1.8

If the hole punches were not there, maybe 2.5-3.0. So yes a drop but nowhere near as bad as a Fine copy with hole punches.

1.0 for sur but I have seen triple hole punch comics get a 2.0 before👍‼️😷

True.  And I've seen punched books grade out even higher.  But none had the very heavy creasing and general wear of the OP's ST #110 (which should grade no higher than a 2.0 GD, even if it had no binder holes).
