Show Us Your Examples of Sun Fade

Here's a good example of a book that looks like a sun fade at first glance, but may actually be a printing error:

Here's what it should look like:

But notice that the browns haven't gone green this time.

The back cover is a giveaway as it has the same lack of colouring:

So a genuine printing error, unless someone tampered with the browns and put it in the window front and back, over a period.

There are people that would do that, probably, aren't there hm

Here's one I used to own.  Another horrific example where you can see where the price sticker was.

That's a cracker Mutant Manatee (did I mention I like manatee's before?) - the green of the Vision has gone turquoise as expected and the purple has gone blue. The yellow has more or less departed and the red has that washed out pinky-yellowy look. I'm not picking up a massive difference on the brown of T'Challa's face though this time - it hasn't gone green like our Spidey cover characters did:

great thread!

I can't believe this thread hasn't existed.

Me neither! It probably does, but it's buried. I have a lot more to post, but will see what others come up with first.

I went to a LCS that had a whole wall filled with faded books.  I know I posted pics of them at the time and other boardies posted pics, but I didn't give the thread the "Show us your...." moniker.

I couldn't understand how a comic store owner could walk into his shop day after day and not see the horror of the fading.

I don’t have any to contribute, but it’s fascinating.

Sometimes I find the fading can produce an effect similar to what’s seen with 3D comics.

I think that would be cool, if we could show, discuss and agree on what is and isn't a sun fade effect.

Back in my Spidey completist days there were a few 'holy grail' error copies which, on reflection, may have been sun fades.

This book used to get everyone excited - I think it's a genuine printing error though, given that it seems to be the reverse of what would happen with sun fade, being covered as it is in yellows and reds:

I think I remember that thread Gad - I did have a good look for one as I know I have seen many examples posted here but I guess they were all scattered in other related threads. We may as well have this a dedicated home for them, eh.

@gadzukes

There we go Gad - BlowUpTheMoon's thread title was too cryptic for the search engine! Just had a peek and there are some cracking examples in there.

I'd say that was a printing error, as the yellows are vibrant still. What say others?

Here's a good one from the other thread - you can see where the large price sticker was previously situated at the top of the comic, and has left behind its shape in the red of the title logo:
