Yes. See: Marvelman and V For Vendetta. Moore was going to happen with or without Swamp Thing.

Yup, same with Grant Morrison with Doom Patrol and Animal Man.  There is no shortage of minor characters out there that a good writer can use as a vehicle.

Morrison = Copper Age.  We’re talking Bronze Age here.

again, without Wein, there wouldn’t be an x-title for Claremont to write or Wolvie mini series to establish the character moreso.  It all starts with Wein!

As is Moore.  The point was that Swamp Thing was never a very successful title in the BA, and only became a well known character because of Moore in the CA.  But if Wein had never created Swamp Thing, Moore would have just taken some other obscure character and done his magic to transform them.

I used the example of Grant Morrison to illustrate that it wasn't the obscure character that mattered, it was what the talented writer did with them.

To me, Roy Thomas advanced Stan's work at Marvel, but Starlin took it in a new direction.  Marvel was earth-centric before Starlin introduced the Cosmic Space Opera  to it.  He rescued Captain Marvel and Warlock from obscurity, gave us Thanos, Drax, Shang Chi, and so many others.

Was it a coincidence he was the featured creator in Star Reach 1, the first direct comic. That the first Epic comic was Starlins Dreadstar?

Starlin not only advanced Marvel, and later DC's entire vison, he did it while being a pioneer for creators rights.

That's because there wasn't really any dominant writer(s) during the BA, unlike the SA (Stan Lee) and CA (Miller and Moore).

And Roger Stern.
