i have always sold my firsts on the 'bay, but i've seen so much activity and enthusiasm in our "show us what's on your bookshelf" thread that i figured what the heck, take a shot at the "misc" component of this forum first.

i'm thinning my library by getting rid of my random house top-100 novels above 25, other than those that won various book awards, cuz i want to stay complete on those lists.

i'll take it on the thread trumps p.m.'s, but i'll listen to reasonable counters.  return will be accepted, just let me know w/in 3 days of delivery of book.  shipping $12 domestic, we'll have to figure out foreign.

there ain't a gpa for these things.  i've looked at various selling sites to come up with what i hope are attractive prices.

i'll start with a good one.   james dickey's "deliverance," first edition [r.h. #42].  very pretty jacket, nice book.  a name written on the fep.   see the pix...

$150.  SOLD!

btw, when i say "first edition," i mean first edition, first printing.   unscrupulous sellers try to pawn off first edition, later printings merely as "first editions," and hope buyers don't notice...

also; i'll just say "first edition" if it's an american printing of an american author.  if british [or other] and NOT a british imprint, i'll tell you it's first u.s. edition [this is a "thing" in book collecting; many choose to "follow the flag..."].

Highly interesting thread, Straw-Man.  Gorgeous books to boot.
I may have  to start something similar,  it looks  as though  there's some interest in genre  fiction,  especially
SF, fantasy, and maybe  horror.
