Mine was shown as delivered/picked up a couple of days ago.  Just waiting to hear from the recipient.

And I arrived home today to find said package on my doorstep.  Was it worth the wait?  You tell me.

No, I'm telling you, it totally was!  

I had put at the top of my wish list really anything CGC graded, since I owned precisely zero, with a bonus if it was from a series I actually collected back in the day, and hopefully a nice cover to display. 

First in the box were these two beauties.

Very cool, high grade Thor covers.  But the real kicker, and the one that makes me just so happy was this one:

Bam!  Perfect 9.8 from one of my very favorite runs and one that I actually own - Simonson's Thor.

That 339 was hot off the CGC shipments.  Freshly graded book and the initial holdup on getting the package out.  Apologies it didn’t arrive before Christmas.  I’m glad to have jump started your slab collection!

So it's a normal day at work and I get a text from my wife.  She tells me a box just got delivered but it's dated from back in December.  So I check my tracking and sure enough:

My Secret Santa gift arrived!  And only 2 months to get here! 

It had been in the Bermuda Triangle of my regional post office for so long that I fully expected the box to be destroyed and covered in forklift tracks.  I was pleasantly surprised to find the box was in terrific condition given how long it had been in the system.  Oddly enough, my wife says it was delivered by a UPS driver along with 2 other UPS packages.  Who knows where this thing was hanging out?:

At this point, through several PM's I already knew that my generous Santa this year was @Murphman13.  I opened the box and there was a nicely-wrapped gift inside revealing his identity:

Inside were some TMNT books in really nice shape.  There was an Anything Goes #5 and a TMNT #9.  #9 is a cool issue because it's one of the few times Eastman & Laird depicted the turtles as younger children instead of teenagers.  They all sported the full head-covering bandanas and they showed Raph using Tonfa before he fully adopted the Sai has his main weapon of choice.  It's a rare look at a younger version of the TMNT.

If that weren't enough, there was something SUPER cool underneath.  I could tell from the small portion peeking out from under the cardboard that it was Fugitoid...one of my favorite characters from the TMNT universe (hence my profile pic).  It's a very nice copy, but I was floored when I saw the note on it indicating it was signed by Eastman & Laird.  I didn't see any signatures on the cover, so I was excited since interior signatures usually indicate older signatures, which are even cooler in my opinion.  Sure enough they look like signatures from the 80's or very early 90's.  Amazing!  I love this issue.  I love the character.  I love early Eastman & Laird TMNT art.  I'm so excited!:

I'll also add that @Murphman13 is a stand-up guy.  Earlier this week, he reached out and told me that due to the lack of movement, he felt this box was lost forever.  Rather than shrugging his shoulders, he told me he'd be working on a backup box that he'd send more as an Easter present.  Even if this box hadn't shown up, that wouldn't have been necessary, but it was a very kind gesture. 

This Secret Santa present was certainly worth the wait!  Thank you, Glenn!    What a wonderful way to cap off this event.

Last year my gift from @Wolverinex showed up in January.  Now this one is in February.  If my post office doesn't shape up, my Santa next year should pack some shamrocks and gold coins in my box so it's ready for its mid-March arrival. 

Unless I'm mistaken @HollyJollyOne, that puts a bow on this event.  Thanks everyone!
