The only completed set I have is Special Edition Comics 1. It's an anomaly, though. If I really wanted to complete that set, I'd have to get all of the issues of Captain Marvel Adventures, since the title was renamed after the Special Edition came out. At least I have the Kirby issue. crazy.gif Oops, geeking out again.

Oh yeah, it's one of my favorite storylines ever. Such a classic run by Starlin.

 

One of the variants just went off last weekend- 9.6 and everything. Scottish sniped at it (although his $30 attempt paled in comparison to the mighty $100+ snipe it went for.) That was a funny it went from 9.95 to over 100 in like three seconds.

 

Are you interested in the Strange Tales issues and the Avengers/ Marvel Two in Ones Annuals as well? The whole starlin/ warlock story arc?

Scottish - I have 1/2 of the set to go...and 1/3 of the 9.9 set to go...

I have been goingback and forth on pm's for these as I'm not the only 10.0 collector out there and some are darn near to finishing, like one to go...difference is I "made" mine smile.gif

How do you do that? Do you scour the countryside for copies you believe to be 10.0? I think your's will be much more desirable (at least on a personal level). As I said to acquire such a set right now would be cost prohibitive. wink.gif

The secret is prescreen...ya got to wade through a lot o' turds to find the one with corn in it...or something like that confused.gif

Not done but getting there:

 

FF through 1979:

 

FF 1-10: 7.0+

FF 11-20: 8.0+

FF 21-30: 9.0+

FF 31-40: 9.2+

FF 41-213: 9.4+

 

I'm also working on the Giant-Size series, 9.4+

 

Incredible Hulk or Journey into Mystery/Thor will be next.

 

 

Anyone care to guess which FF will be the last one I need? I'm thinking #51.

Thor/Journey 83-200; Hulk 1-6, TTa 50-101, Hulk 102-141 and Annuals 1,2,3; FF 2-100 and Annual 1-6; Spidey 1-51 and Annual 1-6; X-men 1-66; Avengers 1- 100(missing about 6 issues in the 70s/80s) ; Surfer 1-18( except 13). Almost all Tales of suspense 39-99( need 60 and a few others in the 90s).

No real average - Hulk 1 is the lowest at a 7.0, FF 2 8.5, Journey 83 8.0, ToS 39 8.5, Spidey 1 9.2( with slight color touch) - most are 9.2s as i refuse to pay the really ridiculous and arbitrary multiples of guide that 9.4 books bring unless the book is really rare. Some of my faves are FF an1 9.2, 2 9.4 and 3 9.6; I have Hulk 102-112 in 9.4; spidey 6 and 9 in 9.2 - and a 14 9.0 that i paid $1500 a year before the movie! X-men 1 9.0 and Avengers 1 9.0 - have 2 and 3 in 9.2. Journey Ann 1 9.4 is awesome and I have Hulk An 1 9.4. Also favorite FFs - 12 8.0, 25 9.2, 40 9.2, 50 9.2, 55 94, 72 9.4, 100 9.6. Some hard ones to find were Tos between 40 and 55 and journey 84-100 though. I have bought all over - a lot on ebay, ComicLink, Blazing Bob, heritage, metropolis and private deals.

#7-11, 12, 14, & 15 (Range from 9.4-9.8)
