Hoping you guys could give me some advice on this comic(ASM #4),  it's got a large black ink stain on the back cover that leaks through to several of the pages also on the back

overall I think the comic is a 2.5 ish... But I don't know how much this large ink stain effects the grade

any help, advice or opinions would be great

The ink is just one more blemish on a well-worn copy.  It'd be nice to see a shot of the last interior story page and to know whether the cover is detached at the top staple.  I'm comfortable calling this a 2.0 GD (although I could definitely see others giving it a 2.5 GD+).  Most folks are kind to early ASM.  (thumbsu

Thank you for your opinion

Cover is detached at both staples but there is a 1/2 inch spine split at the top

I assume you mean the cover is "attached at both staples," not "detached at both staples."  It looks like it's still attached.

Assuming it's still attached, I believe this book will grade no higher than FR/GD 1.5.  It is very similar to several of the books in the Overstreet Grading Guide at that level and it meets all of the criteria.  The stain is the absolute clincher.  On a lucky day you might get GD- 1.8 but I personally would not grade it that high.
