I had never noticed this until this thread started. 

Batman's arm is lifted up but the shadow shows its pointing down.  The man on the steps right leg is longer than his left and the shadow of his arm extends straight out but his arm is pointing up.

Agreed. There are a few instances where BWS definitely embellished anatomy…

 

however

 

he is also a master at anatomy, and I love his work all the same.
